Last Year vs. Last Sunday vs. This Monday

"If you play a game like we did this week, you're very concerned," Gibbs said. "We need to get out of that rut. We need to be much smoother than what we are. We make a big play, make plays, have a real good drive and then are inconsistent."
And what about players supposedly being more disciplined under Gibbs?
"We are," Gardner said. "But we got behind the eight ball and felt like we had to make a comeback real quick. A lot of times we were making mistakes we shouldn't have.

This, I think, pretty much says it. Last year the team was about as error prone as Charlie Brown. Good intentions but somehow managing to screw it up. And last Sunday, it managed to creep in again despite the discipline. Despite the attention to detail. But that being said, if anybody thinks that Parcells isn't over there telling his players "If anybody thinks that kind of performance is going to happen again had better think again!! I've played against this guy before!!!" Also... Gotta back my boy Ramsey. How soon some of us seem to forget what this young kid did for us last year. He will be much more prepared this time around and I look for the Ramsey/Coles chemistry to come back around to greet us all. Everybody enjoy this Monday.

Your not the only one with the dumb penalties problem!

Luckily for us we have had pretty good luck with Coles so far. Portis will be the key to the game, if the Boys can limit his big run capability then I think they have a good chance. I think Gibbs would be in a sort of dilemma this week trying to game plan against us. We all know how he likes to establish the run and pund it out all day long. However we are hurting in the secondary without Woodson and a decent RCB.

I would think he would want to try and exploit that mismatch in the secondary by going three wide and passing to Portis. I think as long as the Boys can stay in their gaps, they can stop Portis, he makes his killer runs when he cuts back to an open lane.

I do think Vinny will be able to stand back and pick off your secondary, as he has so far. Bryant has always had great games against Smoot and I don't expect that to change. If BP will use more Lee and less George, I feel better about the running game. If Anderson is in, we might as well hand you the ball!

I think your back is up against the wall needing to win a Division game, but this is our first Division game and a must win as well. Will be interesting to see, been a few years since we had a Monday night and the last one was ugly 9-7! We have won the last two Monday night games and there has to be some due factor working in your corner! Although of course we will still win the game! I expect a close one though!

I think the Redskins front 7 is going to cause Vinny fits. This is a very aggressive defense, which the Cowboys have really yet to see this year. People will be coming at Vinny from many different angles...and I think SS Matt Bowen is going to have another 2-sack day.

I just can't see Vinny standing back there.....and picking off the secondary. He'll have to make quick reads and, hopefully, throw those INTs like he did late last week.

Vinny hasn't really been standing.....they have been rolling him out quite a bit. They will definitely be looking for the Blitz! They will have to beat that early to establish control of the ball!

Justice: Bring on the blitz baby! Parcells, along with George Warhop has taught the offensive line to absolutely beg and plead for the blitz, of any kind. Blitz and be ready to get exploited with an open tight end or WR. Simple as that. You blitz, you leave an open man running free. LOL Gotta love it.

Alright football genius.... So if we send one LB or Safety... tell me whose open? seems like we still have a 10 on 10 match up to me.... Nice counting though..

It's nice that they have Vinny rolling out more... so that he can roll right into a blitzing linebacker, and the linebacker won't have to run quite as far!

When Vinny rolls out, does he use a walker or a wheelchair?

When vinny rolls out hes in a a wheelchair and has an oxygen tank hooked up, and a nurse on the sideline so he doesnt "choke"

and the oxygen and nurse are there now so that he doesn't have an obvious repeat of last season's opening game! won't do him much good, though. This defense is vastly improved over the one that he lost to last season!

LMFAO! Vinny works out harder than probably anyone on your team. The guy has a 4 1/2 hour workout.

Are you talking about Vinny losing with a completely different team? You mean the Jets that only won 1 more game than you guys? The team you beat by a field goal? LMFAO! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

And what position did Vinny play for the Jets? Oh yeah, the same one he's playing for the 'Pies... QB, the same position that takes every offensive snap and has to make something happen... and against our defense last season, he didn't make it happen. So Vinny works out for 4 1/2 hours... what, is that in a week? Just get his oxygen tank ready, and take his insurance information down so that he can get pre-registered at the local infirmary for after the game.

I find it humorous that 'boys fans come on this board and strain themselves to make god-awful attempts at jokes, and then someone posts an actually funny quip about "old man vinny" and they get all offended!
