Looking at you're schedule this year I see you guys going 8-8, of course with a loss chalked up on Monday night. You have to many question marks in your trenches to be any better at this point...and QB for that matter. That 8-8 could be suspect depending on how good or bad the Lions and Bears actually are...Giants, Steelers, Whiners should be slam dunks, but Ravens, Pack, Bengals, Boys and Minny will all be tough.

Deffinately. Every game is a must win.
This will be a great game in all aspects. It is important for our record as well as restoring moral on the team/fans.

Good teams "bounce back". Big time test on Monday Night.

I think it's still a bit early in the season to be considering any game as a "must win" game. I don't relish the thought of a possible loss to the 'Pies, but there have been a lot worse things than being 0-2 in the division (also recall that the last time the 'Skins won a Super Bowl they had two division losses, one to the 'Pies, and a meaningless loss to Philly at the end of the season). I mean, think about it, we could have still had Spurrier, and we'd then have something worse to contend with, no HOPE of a decent season!

Actually, and Dallas fans must feel this same way, every game against Dallas is a must win. It doesn't matter if it the beggining or the end of the season, if we are 0-15 or 15-0. For nothing other than prides sake this has been and will always be a must win game. Those that don't see that aren't true skins fans and are true bandwagoners. (Though we haven't had much of a bandwagon to jump on here recently) But the importance of this game is always big.

"Those that don't see that aren't true skins fans and are true bandwagoners."

I've been a fan of the 'Skins since I was 11 years old, growing up in south Florida, going against the Dolphins in Super Bowl VII. I guess that makes me a bandwagon jumper-on'er... I would HATE to see the 'Skins lose to the Cowpies, but if they do, that doesn't mean that the whole season is shot, and it doesn't mean that I have to open up a vein...

Yikes I remember that game and at 13 - how lousy I felt. But I also remember the pure joy when we kicked the you know what out of Dallas in the 1972 Championship game. Still one of my favourite skins games ever. Beating Dallas is huge - so is getting to the playoffs and winning the SB. And they come at us one game at at time.

Welcome to the site xhadow. I do agree that Dallas is, IMO our most hated opponent as well they should be.

Yeah, that game kinda stuck in my craw for 10 years, until the 'Skins evened the score in SB XVII. And I still carry a grudge against the Raiders for SB XVIII.

I believe that this game against the Cowboys is a MUST WIN! For the following reasons: Can't afford to start 0-2 in the division (only 6 division games, god I miss the Cards), and the need to rebound from a horrible performance against the Giants. I also believe that the Skins should win this game because they are playing at home, defense is suffocating, and offense under Ramsey I believe is more explosive. Just avoid the dumb mistakes!!!!

That game was my first game as a fan! I was six....bet my piggie (or should I say Hog)_bank against a neighbor!...and Dad let me have a taste of my first Budweiser! Ah...memories!

Every game against the Pukes is a must win...I don't care if were 15-0, getting ready for the playoffs and have nothing to play for.

This game is a MUST win... just for the fact that if we win... we will get to point and laugh at all the Cowboy fans till December.....Pointing and Laughing is healthy.... It builds strong bones, a beautiful smile.... and relieves stress on the heart... Pointing and Laughing at Cowboy fans gives you twice the amount of vitamins and minerals, and it hurts their feelings too...

Pointing and Laughing... Do it TODAY to a Cowboy near you...

DE Skins you misunderstand this game is a must win from the aspect of no matter what else happens this year 2 wins against dallas earns respect for the rest of the year. Just like we can't deny that they were the team that kept us from the perfect season after that loss it didn't matter who we beat anymore we had clinched the playoff and the 1st round bye all that was left was home field and our schedule was easy enough to get that with our second string but our first loss that season was to dallas which made the loss that much worse.

Wow DESkins, that's really cool. I've been a skins fan since super bowl VII as well. I was 9 years old. Living in Arkansas the kids at school were predominantly cowboy fans, but as most kids do they got on the dolphin bandwagon that year. I can't begin to tell you the abuse I took for being a Redskin fan. Lots of water under the bridge since then, good and bad. Needless to say this week is huge for any Redskin fan. For anyone who has had Thanksgivings ruined by the likes of Clint Longley or Emmitt Smith you know what I'm saying.

It would be bad to start out 0-2 within our division, that's what makes this game very important. That and the fact that we just haven't been too sucessful at all against the Cowboys as of late. It would be great to get the gorilla off of our backs in front of a national TV audience. The one thing we have going for us is that I have very rarely seen a Joe Gibb's coached team play back to back bad games. Let's all hope this trend continues.

xhadow, I don't misunderstand this game in the LEAST. It's DALLAS week, and I remember 32 years worth of DALLAS weeks, I know exactly what the game means. That's why I said that I would be unhappy (my whole week would be ruined) if the 'Skins lose. But after the way the last DECADE of Dallas weeks have gone, this is the first time since Joe Gibbs left that I have the reason to believe that an early season loss to the 'Pies would be avenged later in the season, and I have HOPE for the first time in a long time of having a decent season. On an emotional level, I'm right there with ya, I bleed Burgundy & Gold, but looking at the game rationally for a few minutes, difficult as it can be when it's Dallas, the fact is, an early season loss doesn't doom the whole season. There's still time to make up for a loss if need be. That having been said, KICK DALLAS' UHH, well, you can't say that in this forum!!!

If I had to rank the six division games into hardest three - bottom three, the two NYG games and the DAL game here would be the easiest three.

Two lose two of those "easy three" is a large blow to any aspirations of challenging for postseason play.

Yeah, but we started 11-0 that season. And Gibbs had been around for 10 years, so we were used to winning.

NC, you and I are the same age. That victory over Dallas, and the one in the '82 NFC Championship are my faves.

Yes...if the Skins are to make the playoffs they must go 4-2 in the Division...I was counting on a sweep of NY and splits with Philly and Dallas...going down 02 in the division is a killer...if we don't win this one it's 8-8 or less!

True, JSPB, but if the 'Skins lose Monday, I won't throw too many things out the window or through a wall... I'll just suffer until December 26th and pray like you-know-what for revenge! Let's remember, this is Joe's first season back, and while it'd be nice to go 15-1 in the regular season, I just don't see it. 8-8 or 9-7, I'm okay with, 10-6 I'm ecstatic, anything better than that (doubtful), I'm floating on air. But in the first season, working with mostly Spurrier players, I can't get upset if Joe doesn't sweeep the board for the rest of the season. Now, in another two years, with the chance to bring in more of HIS players, I would expect us to beat up on Dallas with impunity and regularity! And man, has it been a LONG time since we could have even THAT ray of hope!

Yes and no

Yes, it is MUST win aginst Dallas -always-.

No, it is not a MUST win in the overall scheme of things. A LOT of things can happen between this week and the end of the season. Anybody had a look at the injury lists team-by-team? The atrition of personnel is dreadful.

What I mantain to this day is that no matter the outcome, the team must play well. Both teams need to earn the respect of the entire NFL. People respect Gibbs and Parcells but not their teams, at least yet.

Sure I dislike Dallas A LOT. But I used to respect them. I do not think that too many teams respect the Skins and the Boys these days.

Having said that, I dislike the Eagles and their fans enough to call those games MUST wins for both Skins and Boys.
