sad to the standings

I looked at the standings this morning and my heart cried out when i saw us in that last spot of the NFC East. I'm hoping that we could turn things around soon. It seems as if we have the weapons, we just need to apply the right calls at the right time and other things must happen, like Ramsey getting back to last years form prior to getting happy feet, Gardner becoming more of a factor he's still dropping far to many passes, the O-line openning up some lanes for our running backs. how long before we take a look at the standings and see our team in the number one slot?

Well, unfortunately, the Eagles look like the real deal. Their defense isn't quite as good as last years, but the offense is 10 times better. Unless something changes, I don't think it will be this year.

If we beat the cowboys we will be third atleast.

It's only two games. We'll be respectable. I don't think we'll win the division (Philly looks too strong), but anything can happen.
This is a learning process for the team. I would be happy with an 8-8 record this year. I would be estatic with a 9-7. Realistically, we're not going to be in the hunt for the Super Bowl. Coach Gibbs is going to get us there, it will just take some time.

I had you guys pegged for 9-7, but that was with two wins over the Giants.

Then I suggest to not read the news paper or log onto your favorite standings website Tuesday morning. Save yourself the grief...

Skins kick a FG with :01 on the clock to win 43 - 0. Jerry Jones bursts into to Daniel Snyders suite, takes a wild swing and his beaten to a pulp by Snyder. Jones is taken to County, where he's become someones biatch...
I think mine's a lot more likely than yours :0)

I definitely like your version of events better Scooter.
Cowpies Fanatic, you can't honestly believe Dallass will score 31 points on the Skins?
The defense has given up a grand total of 3 points in 2 games (other points against came from turnovers and a kickoff return, setting up a fg).

Actually yes I do...you have not watched our games. We have moved the ball at will up and down the field. Problem is have have made stupid mistakes in the redzone with offensive penalties, and very untimely turnovers. The key for me is not the Skins stopping us, BUT us stopping ourselves. Parcell's is pissed off even with the win and I will bet that our penalties will be greatly reduced. I truely expect that we can put those points on the board.

HAHA, Daddy's Boy beating JJ? I find that HIGHLY unlikely.
He wants to be to the Skins what JJ was to us...the guy who made it all possible...then screwed it all up....then repented and brought us pride again

Vinny won't get the job done. He is really not much better than Brad Johnson. The Cowboys can't throw deep consistently and don't have much of a running game with Julius Jones out and Eddie George past his prime. Thus, the Skins will blitz often. It looks to me like we match up with them much the way we matched up with the Bucs. Plus, the game is in D.C. I'd say the slight advantage goes to the Skins, as long as we don't commit 7 turnovers and Rod Gardner catches sure touchdowns!

You obviously have not been watching old man Vinnie throw the ball this year. Don't worry you will see him Monday night. As for a running game we have an emerging ReShard Lee who has been running extremely well...infact many fans want him to start over old man EG and Julius Jones (who is out two months). The kid has something...
Don't over estimate your #1 ranking defense right now...they won't be ranked #1 after Monday...I assure you of that. On the flip side we really do not have the #1 offense either...we have hurt ourselves badly with penalties on critical drives...look for that to get improved.
can't wait!

All other comments aside, and this is addressed to the 'Pies fans as well as the true believers, isn't it great to have the rivalry MEAN something again?

So why change now? Keep shooting yourselves in the foot Monday.

LOL...if Switzer or Campo were in charge I would be concerned, but BP will have them ready to play ball.

As others have said, after two games, the standings don't mean much. But, if you look at the ESPN standings, 'Skins are listed second.

I'd rather be at the bottom now, than at the end of the season.
