I hate Front-runners!

Everyone says that we didn't beat a good team! Fine, maybe that's true, but they aren't the worst team. What PISSES me off is that everyone is talking about Philly like they just beat the Patriots! I mean c'mon the Giants! They are 1 off the worst team in the NFL, if they get any worse they're going to have to get transferred to the European League, but yet all they can talk about is "how great they are" & how "McNabb & Owens are going to be great together", maybe that's true, but again, they beat the Giants! Shut up all you front-runners, when they do what they did against a real D, then they can talk. We beat a bad team, but they beat a worse team!

Sorry if this is the wrong forum!

We'll see a lot this week with how the Eagles handle the Vikings. After week #2, the Eagles will be 1 - 1.

They beat a worse team, but they beat a worse team to death. The game was won before halftime. They didn't squeak by a bad team, they mauled them.

Drive 1: Punt
Drive 2: TD
Drive 3: TD
Drive 4: TD
Drive 5: FG
Drive 6: Half
Drive 7: Missed FG
Drive 8: TD

I don't care who you're playing, that's impressive.

C'mon, Ant. Play nice.
You'll find some news to post that the scraper somehow missed, and you'll feel better.
Trust me.
You and I both know what all the NY papers are saying this week. I even saw one of 'em try to make it sound like Brunell hates Coughlin.
It's all a game, man. Wait until the first game that another Eagle receiver has more catches then T.O., and the Eagles lose that game. That will be the undoing. Next thing you know, McNabb's sexuality will be called into question.
As for the NYG...this is a team in flux right now. Still, a Pro team, with a pretty good D-Line. Special Teams over there took a hit with the torn ACL suffered by Stoutmire. It'll be a little discombobulated this week.
Sadly (for them) Griffin's seen it all, and Barrow will likely be holding a clipboard, saying "Watch this/that guy".

The difference is this. The Eagles have been a very good team for years now. Yes they have choked in the playoffs, that is true. The Eagles have added some great players in the offseason and have some young players who are going to step up and have big years. The Eagles won easily their first game and deserve to be thought of as a top NFL team.

THe Redskins have sucked for years now. They have ANOTHER coaching change. They have a new QB situation among other positions. They have many questions especially now that Jansen is out. The Skins barely beat the Bucs who are an average team this year.

You can easily see the differences between the two organizations if you step back and look at them both. NO bias thoughts, its just straight up.

I expect the Skins to go about 9-7 this year if they stay healthy. Gibbs could do better or worse. We dont know yet. The fact of the matter is that the Eagles are the dominant team between the two until the Skins prove otherwise. That isnt a knock against the Redskins or the fans, its just the way it is right now.

Bucaneers - bad team or better? I wouldn't consider them bad, though of course it's too early to say with any certainty. They still have (now) the second best head coach in the NFL.

Is Gruden really that good of a coach or did he inherit (sp?) a defense that was just unreal and add a touch of offense that was really lacking his superbowl year? Of course luck was on his side in the SB that he knew the Raiders inside and out. Time will tell of course. I think the Bucs are an average team this year and I agree that the Giants are a below average team.

I think the initial post on here is judging a team based only on what team they beat in week 1. There is a lot more to that, and thats what I talked about in my first post on this thread. The Eagles have proved to be a very good team the past couple years and have only gotten better. Will they play up to expectations? Eagle fans can only hope. On the other hand, the Skins have made many many changes and have to prove themselves. I dont see it as a shock that the Eagles are thought of as front runners while the Skins are expected to prove themselves. Is that unrealistic to a fan who looks at things in an unbiased light?

Bottom line no matter how far they went last year they LOST their last game and ....they beat the Giants

:hmm: Shouldn't that read they STILL beat the Bucs ...I mean they have sucked for years now. They have ANOTHER coaching change. They have a new QB situation among other positions. They have many questions especially now that Jansen is out.

Since they are both 1-0 shouldn't we wait until they acually take the field against each other?

That's not too far from the truth

Sure it can wait until they face each other. I have no problem with that. The fact of the matter is that the Eagles have proven to be a great team over the years and have added great players. The Skins havnt proven anything. In the mean time, the Eagles will be the front runners.

sure, it could read that. That doesnt change the fact that the Bucs are an average team. That only makes the Skins average(and lucky that day) or above average.

I think the Skins go 9-7 which is above average. Still doesnt change my thoughts about game 1.

So by your philosophy, Since the Eagles played a crappy team, then the Eagles are slightly above crappy... :-k
Sounds good to me..

I hope the Skins And Eagals face off in the NFC Championship game. It's a free pass to the Superbowl for the Skins!

Except, as has already been pointed out, they dismantled a crappy team. Didn't squeak by, they blew them out of the water.

Whoa.. partner!... How did we squeak by? Tampa Bay scored their points off of 2 plays.... A fluke fumble by our own mistake on our 8 yard line that they ran back in... and a kick they returned for a long distance, but then they never moved the ball on that drive, and they kicked a field goal... so because of 2 plays, we squeaked by??? :hmm: Don't the other 40 plus plays count for anything?

Come on, we dismantled a decent/average team.... because of 2 mistakes we made, they scored points... big deal... we were still in control of that game from beginning to end....take those 2 plays out and they score 0 points.... and say all you want about how bad the Bucs offense is but they're definetly better than the Giants.... and we pretty much shut them down... how'd you do? :D

I agree that we dominated TB. The box score doesn't necessarily paint an accurate picture of the game.

I bet we never see Raymer (or any other center) step on a QBs foot EVER again!
