I know Rod Gardner is younger and maybe Gibbs will bring him up to his potential but if it could work out financially would you trade Rod Gardner and try to get Kennan McCardel thats assuming that he wasnt holding out.

To be honest I know McCardel is older and the only good year that I recall is last year but Gardener just drops to many balls. I would do this trade cause he would be another deep threat and from what I know is a tough player that doesnt drop as much as Rod.

I hope Rod improves because I like keeping players that we drafted and watching them grow but this is his 4th year and he already had 3 easy balls dropped in his first game on Sunday. I could be wrong but just a thought.

Prior to Sunday's game I would have been right there with you but Rod Gardner had a pretty decent day for a 2nd string receiver. I think he showed he has value. I don't think we'd get enough for him to make it worth getting McCardell, not to mention I am not sure I want someone who sits out because he thinks his worth is more then the contract he signed.

McCardell wants #1 money. We simply can't afford him and don't need him. I think Gardner will be fine. After his drop on the first play of the game, I was thinking it looked like he was getting ready to throw the ball. He could have been looking for running room, but it would've been sweet if he threw it deep to LC on the first play. :D

You can bet Gibbs and Co have had opportunities to trade Gardner and haven't. Yes, he had a good game on Sunday. My guess is Gibbs expects Gardner to be the new version of Art Monk. I doubt Gardner goes anywhere UNLESS he shows serious character flaws.

I would be for trading Gardner for something of value but not another wide receiver, with Coles, Thrash, McCants and Jacobs we are fine at the position. We do have other areas that are not so deep. Rod just doesn't seem to have much trade value so I guess we'll keep him. He is after all a solid receiver. No way would I consider making any kind of move for McCardell, how old is he anyway? This will certainly be McCardell's last contract and he is not worth the investment at this point in his career.

Exactly my thoughts...just catch the ball first, Rod, then run...

Gardner is young and full of potential. Let's keep him around a while.
