I was a little shocked to see Aikmen say that he thaught that the Redskins were as legitimate as anyone out there. He went on to saying that he thinks we will suprise a lot of teams out there this year.

I can't help but to agree with him :D BUT this is coming from AIKMEN! I bet good ole' Gambit loved seeing that! And then topped by the HUGE loss to MInnesota for Big D.

Sorry Gambit, had to do it

Come on...I know your a redskins fan but you are talking about a HOF QB. The least you could do is get his name right, it is AIKMAN.

Anyone know where I can get a video clip of that career ending hit?

Unpopular maybe

I share your enthusiasm about beating the guys from big D as any other Redskin fan.

However, I do not share your happiness about a play that effectively retired and injured a player from another team, even D.

The hit was intended to intimidate, stop, and play as hard as football allows legally. We all know that it was not a cheap shot.

The consequence of the hit was not truly the intention of Lavar. I do not feel that he would go that low. Celebrating an injury in this league is not my idea of the way to go.

From Aikman, the compliments mean a bit more, since the rivalry was alive, well and healthy during his time with the 'Pies. From Collinsworthless, I could care less what he thinks/says, because he's just going to change his tune the first time that the 'Skins have a bad series. He's too much of a "fair weather" anything to have any business calling a game in an objective manner.

Well, Redskin In Canada, you may just have to get over it.
After all, isn't LT selling autographed photos of when he did Joe Theismann ?
These sorts of things can define a LB.
Aikman was truly a pain in the butt. I didn't cheer, but I didn't mourn either.
Where does that leave me ? With the cretins ?

Redskin In Canada. I doubt many, although I'm sure there were a few out there, cheered when Aikman got whacked. The difference is, that was a long time ago, Aikman is fine now, and he is a Cowboy. Aikman was participating in the joke with Collinsworth. It was funny. When I watch a redskins-cowboys game, I'm screaming break his legs at the TV. I don't REALLY want any legs broken...I'd rather beat them at full strength 8)

Aikman even said it was the hardest hit he ever took in his whole life. That is pretty good indication of the clock cleaning that Lavar gave him.

We dont cheer injuries as Redskins fans...we leave that to Eagles fans (ala Michael Ervin).

right on, skins75 and Canada dude.

as a 'boys fan AND as a football fan and human, I hated to see the Theisman thing.

my hope and feeling is that you Skins fans are a cut above the Philly thugs who cheered Irvin's career-ender.

exactly AT. I seriously hate the Cowboys. I grew up a Skins fan and my two best friends were a Raider fan and a Cowboys fan. Let me tell you, when either was on top, I really really heard about it. Let me reiterate, I really truly seriously hate the Cowboys. Nothing against you, as I have sincere respect for all true football fans. Hate bandwagoners. As a redskins fan 3000 miles from DC, let's just say I rarely see redskins hats etc..Until they win a superbowl....hate that =(

Now, that being said, Aikmam getting whacked was really hard. I hated it for multiple reasons. First, you hate to see any player take a career or even season ending hit. Second, it ended an era between the Skins and Cowboys. This rivalry has been dying for years, and hopefully is coming alive again. Third, Aikman and Emmitt were the two Cowboys who I really respected as football players.

When Philly did that to Michael I was appalled. I didn't like Irvin then(although I sorta do now, did I say that out loud?), that was one of the top 5 for unclassy I've ever witnessed.

Good luck to you guys this season, but as you know, my 2nd favorite team is whoever is playing the Cowboys next week 8)
