Jets sign CB Terrell Buckley/Chrebet - probable
By Dave Jones
Date: Sep 8, 2004

To help fill the nickel back void after losing Ray Mickens (knee) for the season, the Jets signed veteran cornerback Terrell Buckley.

Buckley, who has played in 189 regular season NFL games, was last with New England. He was released by the Patriots on September 5. He also played for Green Bay, Denver and Miami.
"It was a good get for us," said Jets coach Herman Edwards. "He is a veteran guy who has played a lot of football."

Buckley ranks third in the NFL among active career interception leaders with 47.

Notes: On the injury front, it looks like wide receiver Wayne Chrebet could play in the opener. His quad injury has improved significantly, and he is listed as probable on the injury report . . .

The Jets filled their final practice squad slot with the signing of tight end Tony Donald. The Western State (CO) product spent time on the Houston Texans and Green Bay Packers practice squads.
