Just wanted to let you guys know, if you didn't, that DTV has a decent special going on right now. If your a new customer *wink wink*, you can get sunday ticket with 4 free months of the best package. So basically, it's 62.25 during the season and then 39.99 for the next 8 months for the basic 130 channels. You can also opt out of the service for like 10-12(forgot how much it was lol) bucks per month left on the contract.
Kinda sucks to have to pay this much, but they got me by the you know what. Tired of going to the bar every week all hungover.
Anyway, just thought I'd post this in case anyone was trying to decide if they should get it or not.
It's almost time =)

just pay the $$$ you cheap bastards.

i'm going to the home games, and i still paid for sunday ticket, to watch the away games here in NC. remember, everything you spend now will help our cap in 2006.

I just got it myself. Out here in LA we have to go to a bar and see the game. I end up spending $50.00 a week at the bar. Too much money. The fiance put an end to that.

you won't regret it. theres nothing like turning on the tv on sunday morning, to have eight games going on at once. you'll be like a kid in a candy store.

It still isn't too late to get it is it?
I may split this with my father.

I'm a cheap bastard! I'm a cheap bastard! (I got it from my dad.)
When I became a season ticket holder, I decided to get rid of Sunday Ticket. The biggest reasons were:
1. There is a brew pub within walking distance from my house that shows all of the games with a 20 oz. mug special of $1.75/mug on Sundays.
2. Sunday Ticket really irked me last year

when, instead of going directly to the game I wanted to watch, they carried over the 1st game until it finished!
Ahh!

yea that sucks. but it's not only the ticket, the same thing was happening on local coverage here, well at least on fox. i don't watch too much cbs coverage.

you will, however, have to work on your bladder size. with so many games going on, there are virtually NO pee breaks.

I don't know if it's something new that Directv is doing this year, but they are showing a small selection of games in HD. I have had the ticket for the past 3 years and have loved it, but I've only recently purchased an HDTV receiver for my big screen. Unfortuneatly, week one doesn't have the skins in HD. I'll be crossing my fingers for the following weeks.

I'm not sure if they are playing more games in HDTV this year than in the past, but they are running commercials saying they will show 100 games in HD this season.
In my experience (my parents have had HDTV for a few years now, so check it out whenever I visit), the skins don't make it onto HD because they are on the Networks, not on the Sunday Ticket.

Now that is kind of a personal question but I bet your wife would say yes!

It lasts all season.

That may be true, but it won't be available through DirecTV, you would have to put up an OTA Antenna. My parents live too far from DC to get HD this way. So, they can only see whatever DirecTV offers.
