BEARS INTERESTED IN McCARDELL?
Our original Chitown mole tells us that the Bears are sniffing out the possibility of swinging a trade with the Bucs for holdout receiver Keenan McCardell.
McCardell wants a new contract, the Bucs won't give it to him, so he's sitting out, despite two more years of contractual obligation to play.
Even if the Bears can entice the Bucs to let McCardell loose (possibly with an offensive tackle or a package of late-round picks), McCardell still wants a new deal. So, basically, the Bears will be in the same position they were in last month, when they swung a trade for defensive end Adewale Ogunleye -- and then had to sign him.

it could be good for them. they gave up a wideout for a DE. they could use a wideout to replace the one they lost. i'd say its a good move. mccardell is a good receiver, and would help out grossman with a decent deep threat.

He wants to be paid like a No.1 receiver can the Bears do that under the cap, if so I think it would be a good move for all involed

if we can do what we've done with the cap, then the bears can most definantly afford keenan.

Then they should make the trade although the Bucs really can't afford to do it. They are hurting for healthy Receivers. But thats a problem they should wait until next week to deal with

Gruden doesn't really care how many healthy receivers they have right now, he must have a whipping boy wherever he goes. Someone he can point to and say "you're the reason things aren't perfect in my little world."
