Well... it's next.

The game every Redskin fan double circles on the calendar... the game some would trade a handful of victories for... the game that will pit the top team in the NFC East against our beloved skins... the Cowpukes.

They're playing well under Parcells... they believe that they're better than they are... we think that we're worse than we are...

:feedback;

As seems neccessary to express with every Cowboy thread... we have a Talking Smack forum for any non-PG commentary.

The Cowboys haven't shown me anything. Their oponents this season have a combined record of 9-27 or somthing. Tampa is the first real team they face all year.

Although I'd love to repeat Jake's comments, I've seen plenty. Parcells have given the pukes confidence and composure. They've won 5 in a row, including two in our division. That shows me plenty.

I am the last one here who wants to sing their praises, but we better get ready to be dominated. They're d is maturing as a team and their offense is not turning the ball over. It's going to be as ugly as anything we've seen this season.

You know what, I hate to say it ....but THEY ARE better than we are.

They're winning when they should...and that's the sign of a good team. I really think that they're gonna give the BUCS some problems this week, too.

Instead of hoping for a playoff birth this year (because, frankly, I gave up on that after the last game), I am going back to hoping for TWO WINS - both against Dallas.

...hangin' my head low....and it sucks!

I'm with you Venting, but don't see us winning either meeting. I'd take 1/2, but wouldn't bet on either....and funny enough have for as long as I can remember. Damn shame....I have no hope at all.

Correction. They are doing things better than we are doing.

Our backs are against the wall but it could be worse. At least we have the bye week to stew about sucking....and to prepare.

If we had dalass this week we'd almost certainly lose but there is time.

My question is if we pull this out is it fair to say the season isn't finished?

Even if these girls beat tampa you know the records don't count when we play. Above all Spurrier PROMISED dalass victories. His butt is on the line to make good here. If he pulls a Turner against dalass DS will not be a sleeping dragon any longer.

Guys - yes we have a problem. I don't think it is time to be singing the blues. Am I madder than a rooster with someone ruffling my feathers backwards? Yes.

Come on guys - we haven't even played Dallas yet - lets not give it to them just yet.

Damn it!

We have a much more talented team than those A-holes. The only thing they do is they don't beat themselves with STUPID play.

I read in a previous thread where someone noted that maybe, just maybe, our stars want to play so well that they are TOO HYPED and they're not staying with their assigments.

I don't know, I'm reaching at this point.

Just glad we have two weeks to work on the little things (again). I'll light a candle for Fazio and Bugle this Sunday in hopes of getting some good mojo for 11/2/03.

The Cowboys are playing well because their coach has them prepared and excited for the games. Spurrier needs to earn the players' respect. Nobody fears him. There is no discipline on the Redskins' team. It sucks! I think I could get them more fired up than Spurrier. What the hell is he doing? He threatens them on Sunday, then recants it on Monday. What a complete wussy. It's Norv Turner all over again.

Spurrier is thinking, since they make millions, why cant they do their "GD" jobs! You should not have to yell at a man to get results. =;

You are absolutely right. We have way too much talent to be playing such undisciplined football. When LaVar hits people out of bounds or Trotter is throwing punches let see some yelling from Spurrier. I know that I am tired of having no voice on Monday.

while I totally agree with the first half of this statement, I'm not sure that I agree with the second.

Nobody ever really FEARED Gibbs... but they sure respected the hell out of him.

When Scooter and I were interviewing Alumni at the Ken Harvey event, just about every one of the former players made a point of mentioning how much Joe Gibbs had affected their LIVES not just their football careers. It was truly awe-inspiring to hear a man so revered.

SOS doesn't have a chance of turning into a Bill Parcells disciplinarian... he needs to take his cues from Saint Gibbs, and while there will never be another JG... Spurrier's personality lends itself much more to that method of earning respect. Be boring, be exciting... Gibbs never cared what it looked like... but first and foremost... do whatever it takes to be successful. The players will respect success.

The thing SS needs to understand about Gibbs is that Gibbs surrounded himself with great people. Great assistants and great players. And he knew where and what areas he needed help and wasn't ashamed to get it. SS and DS seem to be starting to figure that out, but too late IMHO. They will not be able to right this, this season. Next season, maybe?

Yeah I agree... I said exactly that in a post yesterday... if SOS can get some good help, his job will be more manageable.

Gibbs was smart enough to realize that you're not gauged by anything but success in the NFL... Spurrier needs to figure that out. We know he's got a big ego and it has to be killing him stinking the joint out (coaching-wise). Hopefully, that same ego will drive him to FIND a way to succeed.

... and sooner than later.
