CHEESE CUT COUCH

The Green Bay Packers have parted ways with the hand-picked successor to Brett Favre, former No. 1 overall pick Tim Couch.

Couch's one-year contract was terminated, along with the contract of rookie quarterback Scott McBrien.

Couch never looked good in the Packers' offense. In the end, the prolonged courtship between the former Browns quarterback and the Packers lasted longer than his career in Green Bay.

The Packers will go with Doug Pederson and Craig Nall as the backups to Brett Favre. Our guess is that McBrien will be signed to the practice squad, if he clears waivers.

His mechanics have declined dramitically. His attitude basically sucks, and they thaught that he was expendable.

Someone will pick him up again, I'm sure. In the meantime he needs to get his act together and appreciate that he will still wanted by someone.
