Rams Game

One thing I noticed last night is from the get-go, we didn't have many starters in the game, at least for long. Even when players were in the game, the plays weren't called in their direction. Thrash and Jacobs were being tested by the staff, as well as the running backs (sans Portis). That goes for the defensive side of the ball as well. I think we needed a game like this to fine tune some things. One other thing is the play calling seemed even more "vanilla" than the previous games. Anyways, I could be wrong - I'm going to watch it again today since I Tivo-ed it.
Anyways, on to the next one. I just want regular season to begin to see what's really up our coaching staff's sleaves!

I completely agree. At one point I remember seeing the same exact play 3 times in a row. I wondered why that was. I guess we are still trying to be inconspicious about the plays we plan to call in regular season.
That doesn't excuse a loss like this, because we should still be able to execute the vanilla stuff well enough to score a touchdown. But that does take some of the sting out of it.

I see a lot of fans get really upset by the Rams game. I certainly did not....for the very reasons you say. Playing last night was not our Redskins team....but just a few players that will likely be out of the NFL in the next week or so.

No worries here, I like it when we lose preseason games anyway - Gibbs regular season record is better with a losing preseason than with a winning one. Call me superstitious

I was upset about the Rams game but not worried about how the Skins played.... Live redskins games are few and far between, being down here without a dish and that game was
hard to watch. Fortunately it's pre-season but it was the Skins live.
I know 2 thrids of the playbook wasn't used and half the defense didmt play but I was hoping for a better showing. This morning at work I got very little done due to the fact that I spent most of my time(we only do 4 hours on Sat

) educating fans for that team in Texas that (a) it's the preseason (b) it's the 4th game for the Skins so we are farther along in the evaluation process (everyone seems to think that game 3 is when you really get a read on what a team will look like in the regular...

I hope so) and we were taking a looksee at the youngsters. And (c) pointing out all of the players that weren't on the field after the 1st two possesions or if they were they were playing out of postion.(Lott)
One Female who likes that team in Texas asked about M.Washington after I pointed out Lavar, Griffin,Daniels, and Barrows didn't play. After thinking about it I don't remember seeing him last night. Anybody know if he played those 10 plays the "starters" were in there?

Tom Tupa had a good performance. He punted a 56-yarder.
Sean Taylor needed to be humbled by a veteran and Torry Holt did a good job. The rookie rebounded with a spectacular interception. He has not put a good lick on somebody but he will do so in the regular season.
