Lavar not making the trip to Miami

I realize that Lavar is hurt...preventing him from playing tonight's game against the Dolphins...but, for the life of me...I can't understand why he didn't make the trip to Miami?

I realize he is not playing but he is still part of this team.

To build team chemistry, I think all players capable of attending a game (whether they can actually play or not) should attend the game....to, at the very least, show they support the team.

Am I wrong for thinking this?

No but it happens on almost every road game. Players stay home. Several players stayed home when we played Denver.

Actually, my post focused on Lavar but I know that McCants and Barrow didn't make the trip as well.

So...my question really applies to all players, not just Lavar.

Funny how I should stumble across this thread....

I think, during the preaseason, the injured guys should have been with the team in order to improve team chemistry and show support to those guys struggling to make the squad. However, I do understand, that it is common practice for them to not make the trip.

As for the person in question in this thread, the Redskins' pride possession and wrongly-named "Mr. Redskin", I thought his absence actually improved chemistry on the defensive front.

Perhaps it's my own bias against "SeƱor Redskin", but Lemar Marshall did a great job filling in, Marcus Washington had a solid night, and the entire LB corps played their assignments correctly.

Overall, it was a solid effort by the defense, considering they were nice and fresh, having only to play for 20 minutes that night, but, for a change, it was great not to see our "franchise" getting burned AGAIN on a screen pass.

Yep....lots of players to ship around....I'm sure it saves money if you're not playing to keep you home....save the airline tix, hotel rooms, etc.

Actually they fly charters, so the airline tix are not an issue. Also the each player rooms with another guy on the team, but I don't know what they do if one of a pair isn't on the trip. This is probably a pre-season only policy. Why risk the player movement for a pre-season game? Let him stay home and off the injured appendage.

Actually, there often is a reason that players don't fly when injured. Many trainers and orthopedic surgeons will hold injured players back from travelling due to it increasing the changes of inflammation in the injured area. I'm not sure if this is still an issue but it used to be an area of concern. More often than not, these guys remain close to home with a trainer to keep working the injury out.
