I Love LaVar But!!
Has anyone noticed that LaVar in the first two games has pretty much let the other guys do the work. He worries me at times, with arm tackles instead of putting his shoulders down. He seems to get blocked very easily and ends up so using him as an outside rusher makes him no factor. I know he gets credit for making plays when he really ends up falling on top. He is a great athlete, I just hope he turns it up this year. I think everyone remembers the Penn State play he made. We need to see more big hits from him. I know this will not be a popular post.
GREAT SAFETY PLAY IS A MUST IN '04
He made two important tackles against Davis when Davis was getting pass the line.
I think there is only so much you can expect from your star players during preseason. The emotions aren't there and the players aren't in long enough to develop a rhythym. Thats why despite our absolute lack of a run game I'm not blaming Clinton Portis.

LaVar Arrington does not want to leave it all on the field in preseason. He's easing into playing full-contact.
Don't worry. It won't carry over. Some people have made a potential HOF career from arm tackles.
Deion Sanders, anyone ?

I thought maybe SkinsChic or NikiH started this thread cause I misread it to be "I Love Lavar's Butt"
I'ts preseason folks - these games don't count for squat. Play hard, but get out without injury. We play for REAL on Sept. 12th. That includes Lavar and all our starters.
The fun thing about these games is watching the guys who need to prove themselves in order to make the team kick some but.

Wrong TCWEST Deion will make the hall because he was an outstanding athelete. Deion shut down a half of the field, QB's did not throw to his side because at any given time he could take it to the house. Deion would make punters, punt away from him. Lavar is just living off of name and physical prowess now.

I thought it was hilarious that Lavar was credited with a tackle on one play where he was knocked on his behind, and the runner trip over him. Also, he was credited (over the PA system) with a tackle along Shawn Springs, when, CLEARLY, he jumped in at the end.
I do agree with TCWEST; he is easing into the full-contact nature of the sport. As much junk as I talk about LaVar, I would hate to see him go down with an injury because he wants to prove the jury that judges him wrong.
He's doing his part on Williams' defense, which looks solid. He did get beat, though, on a screen pass
, which seems to be his achilles heel.
