Steelers QB Charlie Batch Out For Season

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost one of their most experienced quarterbacks for the season, when the team placed Charlie Batch on the reserved/injured list today following knee surgery.Batch, in his seventh season, has been bothered by soreness in his knee the past few days of training camp. He had season-ending arthroscopic knee surgery this morning, which was performed by team physician Dr. James Bradley. To replace Batch, the Steelers signed free-agent quarterback Kurt Kittner, a third-year veteran from Illinois. Kittner, 6-2, 221 pounds, spent the past two seasons as the backup quarterback with the Atlanta Falcons.
