I was just watching Sports Center. I know most of you guys are at work and cannot watch. But Greg and Chris were on there. They did a fact or fiction thing. One of the questions.............
"Dallas will win more games then the Redskins?"
Greg said Fact! JERK. LOL He said he feels like they have more talent then last year!
However,
Chris said Fiction! He said he pegs us as 9 wins. And that he cannot wait to see Brunnell. He also said that Dallas might have more talent but he doesn't seem them using it!

I saw that last night, but I only tuned in just in time to hear Berman's comments. I don't suppose we can expect Gumbel to be very informed on NFC East teams, since CBS never has our games.

ITS TRUE, ITS TRUE. So Cvillehog, your saying that Gumbel is not smart enough to do his home work.

I saw that this morning, The Redskins will end up with a better record than Dallas. I think if the cowgirls win 8 it will be a miracle.

No, I'm saying he can do all the homework he wants, but at best he was just pulling those numbers out of his ass.

WOW....IF the Cowboys only win 8 , then from what I saw Monday night the skins will win 4-6 games. No depth on the o-line, or d-line and at CB.

4-6 games?? I think not! You seriously cannot think that Gambit. We won Monday nights game just in case you went to bed early!

Hey Gambit187,
Do YOUR homework. The OLine is the one place on the team that there IS depth. Also depth at LB, but nowhere else really. I'm not worried about the blocking this year, it will be fine.

WOW - you're judging our team after what was essentially a squad on squad scrimmage when our coaches used 'vanilla' offensive and defensive strategies...ALlllrighty then.

Vinny T is 41 and won't last 16 games (I actually hope he does, because that means Dallas has thrown in the towel this year). Drew Henson might be a fine qb in about 5 years.
The Pukes will win no more that 5 games this year and two of them will be meaningless December games.

Well that was my reponse to the person that said Cowboys will struggle to win 8 games. I honestly expect the Skins to be right below us with 7-9 wins.
I watched all the game on monday night, ALL OF IT.....and i rewatched the 1st quarter too.

What no depth at DE with Ogbogu (Mr Must Protect this house), and Coleman who is splitting reps with Wiley and has put on 10 pounds of pure muscle. No depth at DT with Glover, Stewart, Carson. Depth at TE,WR,RB. Come on now LOL

I don't care who has the better record. What matters is that we beat Dallas twice and get into the playoffs. While I'd like to predict that we'll be better than Dallas, it's honestly too early to tell. Didn't Joe Gibbs' Redskins win a Super Bowl after losing all of their preseason games? The Skins won ugly last Monday night, primarily with guys that'll be on bench or on the street in a few weeks. I don't think we can say that defeating Denver somehow sheds light on how we'll do this year, either way.

Skins looked no better or worse than any other team that has been in training camp for a week and a half. Plus the Skins have a new coach and scheme om both sides of the ball. I think they looked alot better than last year and are going to really surprise some people this year. They just needed a coach.
As for the cowboys, Gambit, your D will be just as good as last year. Your O...not so much. Regardless of Vinny T having played for Parcells before I don't think he'll last the whole season...and it is highly likely that George will follow, leaving Dallas with a baseball player and a rookie in the backfield in a division that will arguably be the best coached and grittiest fight in the NFL. QC might not have been Aikman but he was your best option. As for which team is better...well we'll find out on Monday night Week 3. It's gonna be a nasty, tough, hard fought scrap! Can't wait!

I beg to differ our offense will be much better. here is why.
1. Larry Allen is in much better shape then last year.
2. Flozell Adams is a beast he prove that last year, and he is in better shape this year.
3. Al Johnson at center
4. Jason Witten the 2nd year TE is IMO like Todd Heap of baltimore.Oh and we still have Dan Campbell
5. Keyshawn is a big time possession reciever, he will move the chains. Glenn and Bryant will stratch the field.
7. Eddie George and Julius Jones will pound the teams into submission.

Well no I am not.
I mean the skins have
1. O-line with its strongest member gone, learning a new offensive system and blocking scheme.
2. 2 QB's that are looking shaky
3. A bunch of blocking TE's for the h-back position
4. Hurt #1 WR in Coles, and you other recievers have not done nothing spectacular.
5.D-line that is the Pits,
6. MLB that is 34 and already injured, his back up is in 30's and average. And a star LB that middle name should be OVERPURSUE.
7. Secondary with a bunch of injured CB's

Ok gamby, you made me do research on this one so listen carefully ok.
1 First on the O-line issue, nice of you to bring up an issue we all are sore about and you know it. Anyways. You have no idea how our O-line will look come Saturday so I say you reserve judgement until you see JJ's replacement in action.
2 If any of your QB's felt they were fighting for a job like ours they'd have issues too! Give them a few more preseason games and I beat you will be eating those words!
3. Ok this is where my lack of football knowledge comes in HOWEVER I do know that the majority of the players that cover this spot are new. Meaning this was their first ever game under a new coach, with new plays. So again. You are tearing apart our team based on a trial run. It's not fair for you to judge anyone on that.
4. In the recieve category, it all goes back to the QB's. They are under major pressure. I guarentee you if your boss brought in another man and said do better or you're gone, you'd have a few screw ups in the begining as well!
5. Ok now check these stats. Boschetti who I will remind you is not even a starter had 1.5 sacks. If we have a player, not even playing the entire game with 1.5 sacks I don't think that meets the criteria for "the pits". I will even through this in there. For back ups, I'd call that pretty darn good. Hell our long snapper got a half a sack.
6. As far as our 34 year old MLB, how the heck would you know what he can do. He didn't even go to Denver. Again jumping the gun on judging a player. And as far as our star line backer, the coaching was the reason he was off last year. Many times on Monday's game I saw him getting up off the QB. Even if he was a hair late, I'd say he was where he needed to be! And to add to this, wait until you see Marcus Washington lay the smack down. He is going to blow your socks off!
7. As far as our injured CB's, I'd love to see what Sean Springs can do when he is healthy if he can reach out and grab an interception like that when he is broke down!
I think you are letting your hatred for the Redskins to guide your thinking instead of your knowledge of football.

Opps I forgot to add that I am a novice so if I got anything wrong, don't laugh at me. But please do tell me so I can learn from it!

G187 wrote: O-line with its strongest member gone, learning a new offensive system and blocking scheme
Jansen's replacement will be the new member of this unit and continuity is a major factor when it comes to the O-line
G187 wrote:Larry Allen is in much better shape then last year.
Flozell Adams is a beast he prove that last year, and he is in better shape this year.
Took a whole year for them to get their a$$e$ in shape I understand why you're proud of that
G187 wrote:2 QB's that are looking shaky
I missed most of the 1st half of the only time the've been on the feild so I don't know..... how much have you seen of them to make this judgement
I also notice you didn't mention those great field generals thats on your roster
G187 wrote:Jason Witten the 2nd year TE is IMO like Todd Heap of baltimore.Oh and we still have Dan Campbell
Should I assume you've seen quite a bit of Witten also?...you know what they say about assuming
G187 wrote:A bunch of blocking TE's for the h-back position
Sellers (not a blocking TE) will play H-back Kozlowski has good hands and

ey caught more passes than any TE in the NCAA last year
G187 wrote:Hurt #1 WR in Coles, and you other recievers have not done nothing spectacular
You can mention Coles without bringing up his toe...Bryant has missed more time because of is attitude than Coles has due to his toe
G187 wrote: Keyshawn is a big time possession reciever, he will move the chains. Glenn and Bryant will stratch the field.
Keyshawn was banned from all team funtions DURING the season...thats Big Time and he'll rub off on Glenn and Bryant
G187 wrote:D-line that is the Pits,

This is all wishful thinking on your part
G187 wrote: Eddie George and Julius Jones will pound the teams into submission
with your QB situation (regardless which one is on the field) Eddie and Julius will be the ones being pounded into submission

I can't fault Gambit for thinking his team of choice will do better than our team of choice. That's just a fan talking. Still, I think it's a little too early for this nonsense. Dallas hasn't even played yet, have they ? Nope. They got Houston on Saturday night. Now, if Parcells wants to go nuts and show his playbook in the first quarter and have Dallas walk all over Houston, that's his bad. ( I'll add here that Houston is no gimme for Dallas. They badly want to be the Number 1 team in Texas.) I know that Gibbs likes to win the preseason games, but I also know that it's mostly just another practice in full pads. I saw Portis looking rusty. I saw Jansen go down. I saw all the penalties.
I also saw Sean Taylor do some things. Wisely, Gambit backpedaled, and we haven't read any more "Woodson and Williams For President" campaign news. He must be stunned.
How about everybody just take a chill pill, and wait it out. Dallas will be in town before you know it, and then we'll know what we have. Remember this, though. This isn't Spurrier, and his SEC. It isn't AFC Central/west Schottenheimer. It isn't Silver & Blue Norval, or even Terry Robiskie (I wish he was still around here !)
This is Gibbs, who comes with a really good understanding of the rivalry that once was, and can be again. That factor, more than anything else, changes these two games we play.
Were I a Gambit, I'd be at least worried.

...one more thing - IT'S THE PRESEASON!!!!!!! and essentially a scrimmage at that. AND, how did this post turn into a Cowboys vs. Redskins post when it began as ESPN FACT OR FICTION?
