Breaking news, ruptured tendon and may be out for the year!

The wording of the Ch. 7 report is "ruptured his left tendon" .... which is kinda odd when radio kept saying its his ankle.
But if it's a ruptured patella tendon -- in the knee -- then it's very well likely he's done for the year.

Time to start looking a LOT more closely at our former backup linemen.....
THIS STINKS.

Ok here is my freaking issue. ABC national coverage didn't mention it. We had to have it from our damned local station at the bottom of the screen.

I never thought I'd say this but thank God we have Winey!
My prediction: if Winey doesn't do the job, we will sign James "Big Cat" Williams.

Ch. 7 just updated the report -- ruptured ACHILLES' tendon.
And, if that's accurate, it's an automatic season-ender, even with the improved medical techniques.

This is very bad news for the Skins. Luckily, they're deep on the OL...but no one can replace Jansen. I'm hoping it's not as bad as this. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Man, this really sucks. He was poised for his career year to culminate with his first pro-bowl and blam. We get stuck with the extra preseason game and blam. That's two starters in two years.

I cringed when they showed the slow-mo replay of him trying to stand up.

They actually did mention it (sideline reporter) but didn't stick with it long. The game was obviously a side note to the induction ceremony cause all they did was talk to the 4 new inductees. I guess that's ok, but I kinda wanted to know a little of what was going on - had to listen to the radio to get much feedback.
Sucks JansenFan. He was looking real good.

Well, i have a feeling that he may be out for the year. From what i read online he tore his achelis tendon. If you Dont know what that is, grab the back of your ancle and that rubber band felling thing back there is your achelies tendon. From playing soccer, i've been kicked back there and it really hurts. I cant imagine what a tear would feel like.

It sickens me to see such a great guy be lost for the season. BUT this is what football is all about. Every down is all about sacrifice, teamwork, and exicution. Winey will get the call more than likely now and be able to proove his worth even more than last year. The most important thing is that the guy is still alive ..... and he should heal in due time. My prayers go out to him while he gets prepared for rehab and turns this thing into a positive, one way or another. Life will go on while he is down and out and we need to pull together and support whoever steps in to take Jon's spot. This is when Unity counts the most.

You got it. I am so sad for him. I know the hard work that he has ahead of him. I just feel so bad that all these years that he's been under a bad coach and injury free and now that he's got these guys he gets hurt the first game. I have a feeling that he'll be on the sidelines every week. I hope so. He plays such an important role on the team. Not just physically.

Yep, he'll be another coach. Bet your @ss that he will be up in there faces when they screw up and going nuts when then succeed. I truely feel he'll be back and some how or another its a blessing in disguise that this happenned. Of course, I wouldn't wish this upon anyone espically one of our field generals, but this is when everyone has to step it up even more. I was all ready convinced that our O-line would be sharp this year and we would have the solid depth it has needed for so long. I WANT to belive that Winey and/or one our new draft picks steps in their and really suprises opposing D's. Take that and a healthy Jansen down the road and we are even better, even if it takes us a while to get Jon back. Believe guys! Believe that for every fallen General, their is someone to fill his spot. And on the bright side.....he'll be back!

Yea, this is a major set back. Also like you said it could be a blessing. I too believe one of the younger guys will step their game up. Mind you this insn't Spurrier, Joe will have 10 extra TE's in the game to compensate, lol.
