Redskins' Taylor Sacks Agents
Rookie Safety Unhappy With Deal He Signed

Washington Redskins rookie safety Sean Taylor, whose brief NFL career has been a mini-soap opera, has added his latest twist. Taylor, the fifth overall pick in this year's draft, has fired agents Eugene Mato and Jeff Moorad, stemming from unhappiness over his contract, and will rehire Drew Rosenhaus, according to sources with knowledge of the developments.

According to one source, Taylor has sent termination letters to Mato and Moorad -- who have a partnership -- making his decision official five days after the pair receive the documents. Mato received his termination letter Tuesday; Moorad had not. According to another source, Taylor telephoned Rosenhaus yesterday to inform him of the decision, and the agent flew into Washington to meet his old/new client.

Is this prospect going to be able to grow up quickly enough to be much use to us this year? He`s starting to show some worrying behaviour.

Could we be looking at a holdout here?

Taylor's immaturity seems to have reached an all-time high! This guy comes in, negotiates a deal that could make him the HIGHEST paid safety in the league, and then acts like a whiny sissy. And what has he shown?? Oh yea, an injury on the first day of practice. This chump is quickly becoming a liability -- I.O. might get to keep his spot on the team after all.

Ever notice a holdout in the NBA?? Wouldn't it be nice if the NFL did something similar. These guys have never played a down in the NFL! Let his butt sit out I really don't care, hard to miss something you never had!

I agree DE. I say if he wants to hold out, let him hold out. Let him depreciate in value every day if that's what he wants. Granted, it would be nice to see what he's capable of, but Joe Gibbs is the type of coach that could make do with or without a Sean Taylor.

holding out would be the dumbest thing he could do. he has a signed contract. which means that the skins hold the rights to him for the duration of that contract. if he were unsigned (like kellen winslow) he could remain unsigned all year and reenter the draft in 2005.

my guess is that taylor will emerge from gibbs' camp with a better understanding of the word 'team'.

Hey, his re-hiring of Rosehaus puts him in a position to rework his deal AFTER his first year. Anyone know about next year's cap figures? Will the renegotiation fit into our current structure? Is he worth it? IMO, absolutely not.

I wonder who is brave enough to start a trend in a diffrent direction.

How long can the Browns hold K2 out if they wanted to play with the 'Soldier?'
