I'm starting to get pretty worried about ST. In addition to firing his agent again he has been unwilling to talk with reporters or fans and (worst of all!) I have been hearing reports that he is out of shape and not playing well on the practice field. He has also already been injured (twice if you count his eye thing). I'm starting to wonder if Taylor really is going to be a good thing or jsut more negative publicity for the'Skins.
Damn I just want him to play well and I hope he turns it around! He is, after all, in one of the best situations possible for a new player with Gibbs to coach him and Snyder to overpay him. I would think he would be thrilled to be in Washington but thats not what it sounds like. What do the rest of you all think?
Make me forget all of this by playing well Taylor!!

What is wrong with this kid? He seemingly has all the talent in the world, but man, what a head-case.

I said the other day I thought at the time his deal was a little light.

And now, he apparently thinks so too. He basically didn't get as much as the #5 pick got last year from Dallas. Too bad he is already under contract. It was a bargain for the 'Skins, but only by a million or two. He needs to stop listeneing to the media, though. They are trying to convince him he got cheated, when his deal is really not that bad when you consider the incentives. He just needs to play well, and the money will come.

I'm not worried so much about him not having an agent: hell, he is already under contract so they arent necessary for now. I'm just worried about his whole attitude- he seems to be taking the money side of the game very seriously and it seems like his relationship with everyone from the redskins to the media could be affected by it. I dunno, I just want him focused 100% on football right now and with all of this chaos going ona round him I dont see that. not a good sign.

Im worried also, Not about the agent thing though, Its his attitude im worried about, Im begining to think of Sean as more of a problem then he will be worth..

Yeah, well if he's concerned about money and he's locked into the contract he's really going to have to earn it now. Only if he were a probowler could he really have much leverage to renegotiate. It is still a very big contract for a rookie DB.

For once I would like to read an article that doesn't ruin my evening. This sucks. Why the hell does this crap always happen? What is it that gives rookies higher egos than veterans? I have to admit, when I first saw Taylor's contract, I thought the Redskins made out very well. However, he signed the dotted line, so he should live by the contract. This is the first year that I have been following every detail that happens in the off season. In the past, I would watch baseball and not worry about football till the season started. I may go back to my old ways because this is too stressful.

Don't forget... this is LEN PASQUERELLI writing this article. He has a solid history of hating the Redskins and embellishing stories to make us look bad.
That being said, let Sean Taylor handle the business end. We should only be concerne about what he does on the field.
THAT being said, most eyewitness reports have said he looks GOOD in practice, not bad. I think I'll go with the many many people who say he looks good over Pastabelly.
THAT being said... ALL rookies struggle. Does Len really expect Taylor to be an all-star after 3 days of training camp?!? Let me brace you for this people... Taylor will struggle in camp, he will struggle in preseason, he will probably struggle in the first few games.
Keep the long-term in mind, and don't get so caught up in scorned reporters trying to start a controversy. Be smarter than that.

Does the name Westbrook ring a bell?....was supposed to be a big time WR but turned up lame several years in a row and then couldn't catch. I can't imagine a player the size of Arrington(Taylor) being injury prone unless he failed to excersize and work out throughout the summer. Head case maybe...I'll except headcase if he can utilize it on the field!

I hate to admit this ('cause I really wanted the Skins to draft Taylor) but the doubts are creeping in big time on #36. I was a huge fan of the pick at the time. I felt that way mainly b/c I think Winslow is an a-hole, b/c I think that Winslow is not that necessary in our offense and mostly b/c Taylor is a potential beast.
That being said, Taylor's behavior has really disappointed me so far. This is all coming from a kid who supposedly is very well grounded and comes from a good family. And, I do bear in mind that Pasquarelli absolutely hates the 'Skins. If this is true about switching agents again, put me officially in the doubters camp on Taylor.
On the other hand, Gibbs has a remarkable history with headcase players (Manley, Riggins) so hopefully it will work out.
Has anyone noticed the quotes from the veteran Skins re: Taylor? Smoot and LaVar essentially said that dude has a lot to learn and that they are going to help him out.
By the way, Ohalete is running 3rd team now? Wow! I thought that he was a servicable starter in the NFL.
Finally, let's hope that Timmy Smith didn't leave the #36 jersey isn't cursed in DC.

He thinks his deal is a little light. He has been hanging with lavar. That doesnt mean he wont play to the fullest of his potential on the field. I know that its pre-pre-season and we dont have anything to talk about but i really dont see any need for great concern

It should go without saying that this guy has his interest on one thing only, and it's not the football field.
This comes days after the God of Washington DC publicly proclaimed how much work they did in researching this guy's history.
Without question, the Redskins have a huge problem on their hands. This guy has done more wrong things than Ryan Leaf did his rookie season, and its not even close to the start of the season.
Wow, they really screwed up here. Big time.

I think Taylor is talking himself right out of the starting rotation. If that's the case, he'll have a hard time re-doing any contract after two years. I think the Redskins should do what the players do all the time, and that is say "that's the business side of things" when they're asked about it. After that, it's up to Taylor. He can either choose to work his butt off and show what he's capable of or he can pout and whine and cry about how unfair everything is and think like a business man instead of a football player. The choice is his. Because he signed on the dotted line, all we have to do is sit back and let HIM do what he wants. If he for some reason chooses to whine and possibly hold out, LET HIM DO IT!! He'll only be hurting himself. One man does not a team make!! Certainly not a Joe Gibbs team anyway.

Please tell me... how does Sean Taylor's personal business decisions have anything to do with you, or the Redskins???
Seriously, the guy hasn't missed one day of camp, or even been burned in a game... yet everyone here is ready to chastize him for what he does in his personal business life.
I couldn't care less about what agent he has. Point is, he's there, he's practicing, he's doing what he's supposed to do. Leave his business to his business.
So many people here are so ready to tear this man down. I don't get it.

Because of his seemingly indifferent attitude to the football side of things. Not only has he not handled the "business" side of things very well, but he hasn't opened too many eyes on the practice field either. When anyone asked Gibbs or Williams about him at practice, they just say something like "he's taking baby steps" or "it's rough". He practices are "average" at best. Granted, he's a rookie, but his average practices combined with a less than stellar attitude is a recipe for disaster for a rookie. He's gotta realize that there's NO guarantee that the starting job is his. He has to earn it!!! And quite frankly, he's not on the road to earning it just yet. If the season were to start now, he'd be lucky to even be on the roster.

BAD KARMA
1. Fires his agent after the draft
2. Takes a shaving cream pie to the face is blinded cannot practice.
3. Misses several team functions
4. Leaves the mandatory Rookie seminar , to come back to
washington , because he was being evicted from his apartment in Miami.
5. Hires an agent at the last minute, but supposedly him and agent have been talking and communicating all the time.
6. Comes QB camp and sprains his knee, MRI's negative, so he does not work out the first couple of days of practice.
7. Fires his agent because he feels his deal is too light.
This boy has some issues with him. With his familiarity of his teammates and the D.C. Metro area he will become more relaxed and little problems like this will become more frequent.

To be quite honest with you, I don't think he gives a blurping shnit. That bonus money is guaranteed and he could presumably do the minimum for a year or two and quit or what have you. (Ryan Leaf).
There are great football players that come out of college and there are great college players who don't care about football. I know which one Sean Taylor is right now. Football is like a bank to a robber. He doesn't care about it but there's money inside it that he'd like to have.

No need to get worked up he fired Rosenhouse once he found his keep on commision too high (3%). Replaced him with some baseball clowns that are willing to take 1-2% (since baseball contracts are huge many are over 100 million, and if you do the math it aint bad to earn 1-2% of 100 million). Once he got his contract he fired the three baseball guys and is coming back to the original agent he wanted anyway. And next time he gets to rework his contract he won't mind paying 2-3% since it will probably be huge (or so he thinks)...This is just a post 6-pack post so if it makes no sense i apologize in my head it sounds about right...

Something here doesn't quite pass the "smell test", if you know what I mean.
I'm gonna sit on this for a while, but what's happening here is highly irregular.
I'm not in the kid's head, so no analysis.

Lets let the man play some football before we are ready to burn him at the stake? the man feels he was cheated out of money. You would be angry also. Please don't try to say "oh i wouldnt care about 6.5 million when im getting 40 million" That may be, but you really never will know unless that happens to you. Sorry for the rudeness, but it just bothers me how everyone wants to get rid of him already before hes even played any real football. And in the end, will you, or anyone, really care about anything else if he helps the team win?
