i dunno. the loss of $650k in salary doesn't seem like enough to persuade someone to quit the nfl by itself. i think maybe he was leaning towards retiring, but the impending suspension was the last bud in the doobie, so to speak.

Ricky said you have to be an idiot to be caught for smoking pot. And he got caught three times. He's probably too high to call himself an idiot right now.

Seriously for the kind of money these guys make, I'd give up water! I mean he can smoke all the stuff he wants when he retires. What is he thinking.

Some people really can't make good decisions. Why should he break his streak now?

He probably don't remember making the statement....
at 1st I figured him retiring was just Ricky being Ricky but to do it to avoid the fine and the 4 games he would have to sit out is just sad

Hey this made me think of a new anti-drug slogan.
$100000000000000 This is your salary..........

He's had problems since day one--whether disturbing the neighbors with noise (which, in the kinds of communities he lives in I'm sure is tough to do); or like the reports from his roomates on road trips who said that he'd leave food just lying on the hotel room floors.
The guy, though a good player, has never realized what's going on. Too bad that he's quiting, though, it was pretty fun to watch him play (except for that Monday night game against us this past season

)
NikiH, I love your idea for the commercial

He not quitting to be able to smoke dope, that's just an extra benefit!
He could do a commercial for Budweiser. He walks up to the bar and orders a Bud Light, and the bartender flicks his bic.

He must have picked up that bad habit from playing The Sims. That's how I started talking to people who show up at my door uninvited for hours until they're my best friend.

Not that I condone drug use, but....
do you know HOW MUCH dope $650K can buy?????
I'm sure Ricky does.
His "fancy" for "the pot" was more important than training camp and his team.
I think it is important to note, however, that the guy has been self-medicating himself with weed instead of paxil. That may be a big reason for his disturbing behavior.

I'm wondering if Ricky is smoking pot to help him with his anxiety issue. If thats the case then I doubt he will stop smoking it.

He did say that smoking pot helps him out 10 times more than Paxil ever could. He also said Paxil caused conflicts with his diet.
...he musta had some MEAN MUNCHIES.
