Redskins Tickets.... For Redskins Fans

Hey Everyone

I've been following your posts for a month or so now and finally decided to join up. This site is amazing; its good to hear people who actually like the skins- seems like the national media in general would love 'em to fail. Anyways I'm gonna be around here for a while.

My question- What is the best way to get Skins tickets to Skins fans for home games? Is there any way to get a good price on tickets? People should want to sell to an actual Skins fan so we dont get outnumbered like in Dallas or Philly 'home' games the last few years.
;furious;

In the past scalpers near Fedex had the best prices but I bet they'll go way up with Gibbs coming back and they also just sell to anyone. Anyways any thoughts would be good- I bet you all would like a home crowd for home games anyway!

Keep up the good stuff BossHog and Co. :feedback;

Welcome to the board Skins04. Your best bet is to buddy up to any season ticket holders you know. :lol:

Would a ticket section on the site be out of the question?

This way skins fans looking to buy and looking to sell could hook up easily.

damn good idea wormer- how hard is it to set that kind of thing up? I'd be willing to try to help: though I'm not the best at computers I live in DC and might be able to help with physically getting the tickets to people etc. Just an idea but I like it a lot

How about a forum right here Boss? Just for registered members, of course.

I think the biggest question would be if the guys who run this site would want to do it.

On the technical side-
From a coding perspective it should take about 5 minutes. (i.e.- Very simple.)

Not sure how much testing these guys do when they make changes or what's involved in putting up a new site build. But again- while this site is awesome it is fairly simple technically.

I'll probably get beat down for mentioning this...but I've gotten tickets off of Ebay for the last 3 years or so. But, that's going to be feast or famine. If the Skins' are playin well, the bandwagon effect is going to make prices go up. But, then again, I'm willing to pay a premium if it means the Skins will be returning to the playoffs.

I've seen them on ebay before.

I have heard that the skins will sometimes threaten to take your season tic privileges away if they see them for sale.

One other prob with posting on ebay etc. is you never know if the person is a skins fan or not.

:roll:

these guys?

You mean me?

We're working on a couple of things to help Redskin sell their tix to other Redskin fans... but none of you seem to understand that as a fan site, it's pretty much not allowed to make any type of a profit off of the team or it's name. Nor do we have the luxury of the time to annotate it all appropriately for tax purposes. We're happy staying low key and continuing to grow steadily in the manner that we have. We have no desire to piss off the big boys, well, not unless our community grows larger than theirs.

You wanna sell a ticket? PM me and ask me if it's okay to post about it on the board... or donate it to the site. We are looking to help out a couple of children's charities with ticket donations this year, so they will always go to a good cause. We're trying to set something up with the Ronald McDonald house to get some less fortunate kids to a couple of games.

Y'all just don't seem to realize that I'm just one person doing this in his spare time do you? Lots of guys help out with articles, and moderating, and avatar making... andwithout their help, I'd be completely lost.... but other than those few things... I have to try and work everything into a very small time schedule. E-mails and pms alone from running the site can run me a couple of hours a day with often 150-200 per day.

There's lots of things we plan to do with the site, and ways we intend to grow... unfortunately, until someone can find me a 30 hour work day... or a way to quit working and just maintain the site (read sugar daddy), some things will just have to wait a little.

This is not a complaint or a whine... I love it all and don't ever think that I don't... but mental health is kind of important to me and so I have to set limits... and even then... taz will tell you that I break them daily.

We always appreciate any feedback that is intended to make the site better... just want you to understand that it's not always so simple as it appears.

I guess I really never paid much attn to who actually ran this monster since it looked like a few folks have admin capability.

Anyway- Keep up the good work skins brother.

No offense taken... just explaining things.

And as far running the monster, are you just talking about the message board?

It is pretty easy to maintain other than moderating all the posts... but the site itself is where most of my work comes in... not the forums.

Wait til you see the new News Section. :-) Oops, did I let a cat out of a bag? Prolly going to have to wait until I get back from camp but I've been working on a new news gateway that I think you guys will find to be the best source of Redskins news links on the web... period. A one-stop news shop, with all the Redskins news that's fit to link.
