Former Virginia Tech star Kevin Jones, the youngster who will try to put the fangs back in a Detroit Lions running game that has mostly struggled since the retirement of Barry Sanders in 1999, reached agreement on his first NFL contract.

Jones is the latter of the Lions' two first-round choices of this year's draft, the 30th player chosen overall, and the third running back to go off the board. The Lions have yet to reach agreement with the earlier of their first-round selections, wide receiver Roy Williams of Texas, the seventh overall prospect chosen.

The Lions can be scary.
1 QB Harrington
2.RB Jones
3. WR Charles Roger
4. Wr Roy Williams

All they need to do is get there defense straight and o-line straight, they will be ruff to contend with in their division.

The Lions remind me of the Cowboys of 1990. Those four offensive weapons could become awesome. Marucci is driven to make John York, the biggest jerk owner in the NFL, regret the day he let him go. I say they are a contender for real in 2006

They are tough. They have some good players on defense too with Boss Bailey, Dre Bly and company. With the other teams in their division on the down slide, they may be able to push the envelope. We shall see how it plays out.
