I highly doubt Sultan McCullough will beat out Rock Cartwright. Rock showed his durability last year. Especially during the second cowboys game when Hasselbeck had a passer rating of 0, and the cowboys knew the redskins could only run. Sultan is only around because Spurrier loved his speed

I see your point. It just depends on what Gibbs expects from Betts. Is he going to be the basher? If so, SM adds a lot of speed.

not to mention, it took all of three nfl plays for sultan to get injured.

Sultan was here because he had an excellent camp last year. The practice squad has been expanded this year, so I would assume that's where Sultan will be this year, unless he just flat out stinks in camp this year.

Is he eligible for the practice squad? Isn't there something about having once been on an NFL roster that makes you ineligible from being "stashed" on the PS?

I don't know. Let me see if I can find out.

Well, you learn something new everyday. Since 1998, the eligibility requirements for practice squads...
Section 4. Eligibility:

(a) The practice squad shall consist of the following players, provided that they have not served more than one previous season on a Practice Squad: (i) players who do not have an Accrued Season of NFL experience; and (ii) free agent players who were on the Active List for fewer than nine regular season games during their only Accrued Season(s). No player may be a practice squad player for more than two seasons.

If I am reading this correctly, he has not served MORE than one year on the practice squad so he has another year of eligibility, assuming that him being promoted and getting hurt didn't consist of an "Accrued Season".
