Any one know what the wizards plan to do with thomas? Are they going to match the bucks offer or let him go?

Haven't heard word 1, so I would guess he is gone. But....

...so we won't know until July 30th or so.

The Wizards want to keep him but he signed a big deal with the Bucks. The Wiz, I believe, have only $6 mil in cap room.

The Wiz have until Thursday to match the deal. I wouldn't count on the Wizards bringing him back, though.

George Michael just said that it appears the Wiz will retain Etan Thomas. I'm delightfully surprised. I was just getting used to the fact that we were going to lose the big man.

I don't know how they did it with such little cap room but I hope George is right!

I guess that means that he will be starting. There is no way he can match this offer unless they have big plans for him.

I love the intensity he plays with. He reminds me of Ben Wallace when he played here.

Look how it turned out when he got a chane to start.

I had a chance to meet Etan at the Fannie Mae Home Buying Fair 2 weeks ago. Brenda was also there. I told him that he deserved every penny he got. I thought that would be the last time I'd see him as a Wizard, but, FORTUNATELY, I was wrong.

Brenda was also there. She's tall.

ESPN.com news services
The Wizards will match the Bucks' six-year, $36 million offer to Etan Thomas, Washington general manager Ernie Grunfeld said Wednesday.

The news comes as a pretty big disappointment to the Bucks who were hoping to beef up their front line. Because the Wizards waited two weeks before matching, they may now be frozen out of the free agent market. There aren't many other high caliber big men left on the board.

"We said all along that we wanted to keep Etan," Grunfeld told ESPN Insider's Chad Ford. "He's a big part of what we did and what we want to do."
