Legacy of the Williams trade

In the wake of the news of Ricky Williams' retirement, I got to thinking just what the Redskins got out of that draft-day trade with the Saints.

That trade, and the subsequent one with Chicago, resulted in 1999 selections of Champ Bailey and Jon Jansen.

The 2000 first-rounder that also came from N.O. was the one used to pick LaVar Arrington.

And, this year, there was the Bailey-for-Portis trade.

So, that one move was the trigger to a series of events that produced the 2004 Redskins' top running back, offensive tackle and linebacker.

Just remember that when you see Ricky looking for good lo mein on the streets of Shanghai.

Trung is a free agent thing about have surgery that would cost him to sit out the season

Besides, Trung wouldn't be a viable exchange for the DE. Miami would have to be high on crack to make that trade.

What do you think about a multiple trade. I think that a guy like Sultan McCullah is going to be really good once he's given a chance. Could we possibly see a trade of Rock Cartright. We could put something together but no first rounds. None.
