He got slapped like a little (I can't say it in the lounge). It was indeed the funniest thing I've seen in a while!!!!!! What made it even funnier was when A-rod had Varitek in a head lock and swung at him only hitting his mask!!!!
Even though that was the funniest thing; it wasn't the best thing. The best thing was Bill Mueller's walk off home run in the bottom of the ninth!!!!!

The Yankees are going to seriously regret pissing off this very talented, but complacent, Red Sox team. If the Red Sox get hot and (gasp) win the World Series, they will have Alex Rodriquez to thank for it. How sweet would that be?

i lost tons of respect for arod this weekend. not just because of the fight, but because of the cheap move he pulled on friday.
arod was on first, the shift was on, so bill mueller (playing third) takes the throw at second for the force out. arod not only slides waaaaay off the bag, but also puts his arm out to try to disrupt mueller from making the throw. it's one thing to slide into a guy to disrupt the throw to first, but it's another to go to such lengths as to cheat. it just proves to me what type of person arod is. i'm happy now that the sox didn't get him.

I wish the umpires would have called interference on Arod for doing that. Ohh....wait a minute we didn't need the umpire to do that because it wouldn't have mattered!!!
I'm glad the Red Sox didn't get Arod either, because they already had a shortstop. I don't understand why you have to get another one when you got that position already.

they're saying here that nomah is as good as gone after the season. that's probably why.
i would say that they wouldn't call a star out on an interference call, but they did to jeter on his way to first last night. and it was doubly enjoyable, because he got beaned in the back.

That it was enjoyable to watch!!! Did you hear him after the game? He was crying about it.
Thats one thing I hate about the Yankees whenever they don't win they cry.

i didn't see him cry, but i did see that he was very clearly inside the baseline. damn cheater. mirabelli should have plunked him in the noggin.

Um, no. The Red Sox also haven't been playing complacent baseball for eight decades.
This season, the Red Sox just been expecting the win games, instead of constantly fighting like they did last season.
As for Jeter getting called out for interference, that was definetly the right call, but it couldn't have turned out worse for the Yankees. It should have been a base hit, with possibly both runners scoring. Instead, it goes off Foulke's foot to Mirabelli. And then, instead of just getting thrown out and having a run score, "Captain Intangibles" clearly runs outside the box and gets plunked with the ball. These are the kinds of things that always seem to go against the Red Sox, so it was nice to see it go the other way this time...
