Armstead verse Trotter

Who do you miss more? Whenever I tell people I like Armstead more than Trotter, they get pissed, call me just homerising(Since Trotter went to the Beagles.), and say Armstead, unlike Trotter, sucked.

It seems like Armstead left with a "thankyou" and a goodbye. Trotter left with a "don't let the door hit you on the ***" from the fans.

I think it remains to be seen how Barrow performs this year. I happen to think he'll perform in such a way that no Redskins fan will miss Trotter. I don't know think Armstead will be missed at all either.

trotter will never last 12 years in the league. i never thought trotter would be cut, because of cap reasons, but that theory was thrown out of the window. i didn't see the armstead cut coming at all either. but, at his age, on the same field, armstead was more of a playmaker than trotter. armstead was the best linebacker on this team the past couple years. while his ability is on the decline, his mentallity was not. that is the one major advantage of armstead over trotter(LA too)... smarts.

I agree with that. I didn't expect the Armstead cut either.

Barrow is a very heady player. I think people will be surprised how much of an impact he makes, especially to the run defense.

Nobody can be held at fault for thinking Trotter's cap number would prevent the Skins from cutting him... it should have. The fact that they still did it is telling of how much they wanted to be rid of him. Draw your own conclusions from that. The caap sting will not be until next season, but there will be one.

Armstead was a little surprising I guess, but he wasn't exactly lighting it up either. I think both Barrow and Marcus Washington are upgrades... Washington was really coming into his own last year in Indianapolis. So I guess on the thread topic, I honestly won't miss either of them because I think we got better at linebacker.

We'll never know what kind of difference the two guys themselves make because Gregg Williams is in and George Edwards is out. That alone makes it a whole new ball game.

I will definitely be paying particular attention to the LB corps when I'm at camp... so hopefully I can provide some lay insight in my camp reports as to how they look compared to 2003.

Marcus Washington is impressively fast. I love watching him play. He's a great tackler, and he's got good pursuit speed. The linebackers on this team might be the best in the NFC, maybe even in the entire NFL -- on paper. We'll see how they perform on the field.

I don't think either will be "missed" due to the guys coming in. But personally if I had to pick 1 would miss Armstead due to his Leadership and on field play. I glad he was picked up early after his release. As far as Trotter goes as long as he's gone I'm happy. To have him freelancing in illy is just a bonus for us. That alone maybe worth the cap hit
If he makes the team

I also think that Armstead will be more missed due to his experience and leadership. Rarely was he caught out of position while Trotter and Arrington were, nor did he ever commit stupid penalties. I also believe he led us in sacks last year. In all fairness however, the Defense has yet to have a defensive coordinator who stays more than 1 year.. hopefully that will change.

Armstead was a leader and a more consistent player. Trotter was not only not a leader, he was trouble...and he was way too inconsistent on the field.

It's one thing to play bad on the field, you control some of it and some is coaching. But you have direct control of your actions off the field...It seem that Trotter was a cancer in the locker room...I hate that!!

Armstead, hands down. He was...well, he was just Jessie Armstead, okay ? This coming from a guy who rolled his eyes when we signed Jessie and said, "Oh, look. Carl Banks again."
I was impressed by his fire and his tenacity. It was my hope that Williams would find a place for him, but 'twas not to be.
No matter. He's found a good home with the NFC Champs.
Sadly, we will have to make him our ho when we face him.
Oh, well !

whatever. he didn't have to chase too many guys down from behind because he was out of position either, like can't get right.
