i'm going to sit on the north carolina general contractors licensing exam tomorrow at 9 am. only about 35% of the people who take it pass, and the other 65% usually walk out both disappointed and shocked at the intensity. i took a seminar on the exam this past weekend, and the guy who teaches it said his students have close to a 60% success rate, so that makes me feel a little better, but it ain't going to be a pushover. been studying for a month on and off, and for the past week damn near solid, and i still don't know if i'm ready. its a 3 hour 80 question test, with varying subjects such as business and law, OSHA saftey, general carpentry, masonry, concrete, roofing, site work, footings & foundations, erosion control, liens, associated trades & drywall, estimating, blueprint reading, and general residential code requirements. there's over a dozen reference books with a grand total of 7500 pages of material to study. only four of those references are allowed in the testing room. the questions can come from any part of any of the references. i must make a 70% or better in order to pass, meaning i can only miss 24, or i'll have to wait thirty days to try again, and if i don't pass at that point, i have to re-sumbit a new application for approval by the licensing board. the test isn't designed to pass you, its designed to fail you, and thats comforting to know.

anyway, to make a long story short, i'm already a bit nervous. i hope i'll be able to sleep tonite. you guys rub your rabbits foot or somthing for me, cuz i've already rubbed the fur off of mine.

Good luck my man! I was nervous waking up this morning (different scenario) but when I did what I had to do I felt better. I know when you start to take the test you won't be as nervous going in because you'll be too focused on getting the questions right to get nervous all over again. At least that's how I hope you feel.

Good luck, man! That test is freakin' harder than the Delaware Bar Exam (55% pass rate)! Good luck, I'm sure you'll do great....just try not to be overly stressed about it.

well i failed the fargin thing by one motherfargin question. so pissed off i could chew through nails right now i got a 69, and needed a 70.

Oh man, I know that feeling. I failed my first MCSE exam by one question. A Hundred bucks right down the drain.

Yo hailskins , man you got this, you got a good month before the first skins regular season game. So study so hard that you get and 80% and get ready for football season.
