Master P can cut rap records, but he couldn't cut it with Denver's summer league team.

Percy "Master P" Miller, CEO of No Limit Records, was among the players trimmed from the team before practice Monday.

"[Miller] thanked me and was very respectful," summer league coach Scott Brooks told The Denver Post. "I was impressed. I heard some questionable stories from other teams. He worked hard. But he even knew it and said he wasn't in shape."

Joining the Nuggets was new assistant coach Michael Cooper, a former star and assistant coach for the Lakers before becoming head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA in 2000.

"I never left the game," Cooper told the Rocky Mountain News. "I was just on the women's side professionally, but it is nice to be back in the league that you kind of helped generate excitement [for] during the '80s."

The Nuggets passed on the opportunity to sign free-agent guard Percy "Master P" Miller.

The Nuggets cut Miller and five other players from their summer league team before Monday's second practice.

Eastern Oregon guard Tyree Jones and Eastern Washington guard Deon Williams made the summer league roster. Before cutting Miller, the rapper and CEO of No Limit Records, Nuggets assistant and summer league coach Scott Brooks admitted to being a little nervous and called his wife, Sherry, for encouragement.

"(Miller) thanked me and was very respectful," Brooks said. "I was impressed. I heard some questionable stories from other teams. He worked hard. But he even knew it and said he wasn't in shape."

The summer league team flew to Las Vegas on Monday night and will open a three- game slate at the Reebok Summer League tonight against Boston. Denver begins a six-game schedule at the Rocky Mountain Revue on Saturday in Salt Lake City against Phoenix.

It depends, do you mean records, or GOOD records.

He use to be good, he would always talk about his life as if he was a thug. But now you show your son Lil Romeo, his house on Cribs, and you have a show on Nickelodeon. What am I supposed to believe.

In the Hip Hop game right now authenticity ( Being real) is everything. But if you are going to be a family type guy. there is nothing wrong with that, but dont try to be a thug if you aren't one.
