If coach K goes to LA then that will definatly signal the Lakers are rebuilding i.e. No Shaq AND no Kobe
Shaq's wife says they've outgrown their current house
How do you outgrow a 18 bedroom mansion?

Jim Gray reports that Coach K was offered the job by the Lakers. At this point, I'll be shocked if he doesn't take the job.

I can't believe he'd want to leave Duke to coach that circus, but I guess he, like Rick Pitino and Steve Spurrier, wants a new challenge. He'll certainly have one in L.A.
I hope he does well, but I have my doubts. I definetly don't think Shaq will want to play for a college coach...

Poor guy. He doesn't even have the money to put an addition on his home like normal people do.

I'm an N.C. State fan but I like Duke. If he goes to the NBA I hope he is successful. I read an article the other day that coach K is frustrated with the way college players are leaving early to go to the NBA. It's making it hard for him to sustain a nucleus of players at Duke. Whatever he decides, I wish him the best.

They're offering to make him the highest paid coach in pro sports. I dont know how much that is but I know it's a lot of dough. The question is who will he be coaching? The Lakers will not be the Lakers as we've come to know them.
Plus I think it's not about the money the man is a instition in NC

Coach Mike Krzyzewski has decided to remain at Duke, turning down the Los Angeles Lakers' lucrative contract offer.
After taking the weekend to mull the offer, reported by ESPN's Stephen A. Smith as a five-year, $40 million deal, Krzyzewski decided to remain as the Blue Devils' coach.
Krzyzewski's teams have held a No. 1 ranking during 12 different seasons, including the last seven. In 24 years, he has compiled a 621-179 record. The Blue Devils have made the Final Four 10 times, have won three NCAA championships (1991, '92 and '01), and have won eight Atlantic Coast Conference tournaments championships and 10 regular-season conference titles.
There were several incentives, beyond the financial, in place to lure Krzysewski to the Lakers, including Kobe Bryant's wish to play for Coach K.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Bryant told Krzyzewski just that last week. Some Duke basketball people were in a campus gym when Krzyzewski came in and told the group, "You'll never guess who called. Kobe Bryant. He wants me to come coach him."
But the Dookies were pulling hard for Krzyzewski to remain on campus, and with good reason.
An official announcement is expected at an afternoon news conference at Duke.

Awesome. I wouldn't have minded K's decision either way. Oddly, I love it that he's returning to Duke. I know he'll kick my Terps' butts again but it's nice to see someone staying because he loves the place and his history there instead of taking the money.
I'm a Terp fan but I've always liked Coach K. He's class all the way. Every Duke fan on Earth has to be going nuts right now.

I'm glad he's staying at Duke hopefully Kobe will now sign with the Clippers (he's visiting them today). Shaq is still demanding a trade so the longer Kobe waits to sign the harder the Lakers will try to move Shaq. The perfect outcome will be for Malone and Payton to be in LA alone then maybe I'll be able to tolerate the Lakers
