Law won't face charges for running from cops

MIAMI -- Prosecutors dropped charges Monday against New England Patriots cornerback Ty Law, who was arrested in April after he allegedly led police on a brief foot chase.
Law was charged with resisting without violence after Miami Beach police said the 30-year-old Pro Bowl player sped off in his Rolls-Royce after being pulled over for a lane violation.
Prosecutors would not say Monday why they dropped the charges. Law's attorneys declined immediate comment.
Police said they chased Law for about half a block until he stopped again, and told Law to put his hands behind his back, but he pulled away and ran off.
Police caught up with him after a short chase.
In December 2000, Law ran into trouble when U.S. Customs officials found several Ecstasy pills in his bag after he was leaving Canada with two other players.
Law said the drug belonged to his cousin, but paid a $700 administrative fine at the scene and was released.

I thought he gets paid millions of dollars to be FAST! I know he might have been under the influence of alcohol but there have been some fast drunks on Cops! He could learn a thing or two!

U know what Jake when I used to watch Cops I wondered if they edited all the times those cops were outrun out. Aint no way they catch those people all the time. I know they wouldn't catch my tail.

Or you could say he had a good lawyer , that was willing to bring up charges of racial profiling when he got pulled over for a lane violation. Yeah you could say that...Oopps but racial profiling doesnt exist.........LOL

If a normal guy does this he's in jail. Since its a pro bowl corner he gets off easy. Not the first time, and sadly wont be the last.

i have no doubt that there exists the possibility that law was pulled over for dwb, but you have to admit that it was dumb for him to run from the cops and resist arrest.

How ofted do you do the smart thing when you're hammered? That fact that he was driving drunk should tell you he wasn't thinking very clearly to start with.

That article doesn't say anything about him being under the influence...

Either he was under the influence of something or he's the dumbest man in the world. I don't think the dumbest man in the world would make it to thirty.

I can't imagine them dropping the charges if he was intoxicated and resisted arrest.
At the same time, I don't think he's the dumbest man in the world.
Man, this is straight out of the "Twilight Zone" or something...

It's possible that he was under the legal limit and just can't hold his liquor.
