It's sort of dawning on me

If everything happens like I want it to, then the Lakers will become a NORMAL team.
Since Phil Jackson's gonna be replaced and
If Shaq is traded (despite their GM saying he's not going to be traded).
If Kobe, Malone, Payton, and Fisher go elsewhere.
Then their team will be completely filled with youngsters and NO BIG NAMES.
Here is their young corps:
Devean George
Kereem Rush
Luke Walton
Stanislov Medvedenko
Brian Cook
They'll have Rick Fox but this is the most normal team you can have.
If everything happens, stated above, then there would be A LOT less glitz and glamour coverage by ESPN and all the other channels, despite the celebs at the games.
This would be so cool to see the Lakers as a normal team instead of a soap opera. I hate when the media (ESPN) does that.

that would be great but we're not that lucky....
1)who is going to take Shaq at 60mil for two years
2)the lakers can pay Kobe the a Max of 140mil for seven years
3)Payton agent is saying since Phil and the Triangle offense are gone Payton wants to come back
......But Gibbs came back to DC....
Maybe I am that lucky

IMO...Shaq will be traded (the Hawks have a lot of money available) and Kobe will stay (as long as he isn't in prison). Buss wants to build the Lakers around Kobe, which is probably a good idea considering his age. You're right, 1niksder, Payton will want to come back since the Triangle is gone. I also think Kareem Rush will be a star someday.

Yeah, last night I saw on ESPN that Gary Payton's gonna return. OK, one superstar (maybe). That'll do.
I don't think Shaq would want to play for the Hawks. I mean, would you? I know I wouldn't.
I don't think Kobe wants to go back to LA that much, especially if Shaq is returning.

Medvedenko is a FA, too.
The whole situation is shaky but it's sort of neat to see that the Lakers most likely won't be on SC every night anymore. Yes!

I hate seeing the same team get coverage every day because of stupid disputes and stuff.

Supposedly, T-Mac wants to play with Shaq in Dallas. Great.

I just read where Rudy Tomjonovich is meeting with Kucheck about LA's coaching vacancy. I hate that! I've always liked RudyT....won't be able to, if he is offered and accepts the job. Glad he's healthy however.
T-Mac and Shaq in Dallas would be scary! Can't see it however....unless Cuban is willing to trade his entire roster for an old Shaq and T-Mac....and the two of them can't do it alone. IMHO

Cubes does have talent. I think he might be able to put up some good deals. I mean, Antawn Jamison won the 6th man of the year award. Antawn's a legit starter. If he's their 6th man, they have a thick roster of talent.

they do...but it would essentially mean swapping the mavericks, with their "can win the big one" perimeter game to LA and vice versa.....except Shaq might actually have more weapons than he did in LA
LA will first try and get Shaq out of the West...I'm thinking possibly New Jersey
"New Jersey? Conceivably. A deal involving Kenyon Martin (via sign and trade), Kerry Kittles ($10.2 million next season), Rodney Rogers ($3.35 million), the contract of Alonzo Mourning (still on the Nets' books at $5.4 million) and the rights to incoming Euro big Nenad Krstic would get you in the neighborhood of Shaq's contract. I would assume Jersey would want a young shooter like Kareem Rush to be part of the deal, too. Bonus for the Lakers: Rogers and Kittles are entering the final year of their respective deals, and Mourning would come off the ledger after next summer if he doesn't play again. The Lakers would get two talented young bigs in Martin and Krstic. The Nets would add Shaq -- who has lots of family in Newark -- along with a quality shooter in Rush, while retaining a good chunk of their core: Jason Kidd, Richard Jefferson, Jason Collins, Lucious Harris and Aaron Williams. You'd think the Diesel would also sell some tickets, but I thought the high-flying Kidd Show would, too"

I was about to say, man! TH, you're at the wrong site! LOL I like Aldridge. He's always comedic and knowledgable about the NBA.
