Ricks?

I read somewhere the Skins were interested in signing Mikhael Ricks, cut by the Lions. Statswise I think he was second on the team in receiving yardage but only started 6 games. He weighs 260 - does anyone know if he can block? I don't know if I want to keep adding mediocre people. We now have 8 TEs on the team and 12 WRs. I say only add him if he will be a clear starter. Thanks for the info - I know you guys will dig up something on it.

Rikks sucks! I doubt we will go after him! We dont even need a nother TE! Rikks cant catch a ball if his life depended on it! We have Rasby and Koz to block!

Sorry to disagree, I think Ricks has tremendous upside. He was a WR originally, then outgrew the position. He played through injury and has good experience. If he's capable of picking up the offense - I think he's got enough talent to be the starter. Frankly, I don't know much about the guy other than a few games I'd seen. He could be an excellent pair of hands and would push the other guys at worst. I don't think it can hurt to add a guy to compete for the position - all contracts are going to be dependent on the guy making the team...
at this point, Sellers, Koz and Royal are in -imho. Ware and Rasby are on the bubble. I'd put Ricks ahead of all of them in the talent department - not sure what that says either :0)

I would've loved to sign Ricks... when we didn't have any tight ends! But we have seven tight ends on the roster. So I'll defer to my favorite soccer announcer to voice my opinion... "nooooooooooooooooooooo no-no no-no noooooooooooooooooooo!"

I hope you all liked that!

No actually I didnt like that. Lol j/k but anyways I think Ricks would be a good player to bring in BUT we have so many damn TE's now. I'd only bring him in if we cut a bunch of other players but I think he'd definitely push Rasby/BKoz for the starting spot.

HB/TE? Why, that sounds like an H-back! Bring him in. Great coaches like Gibbs find ways to use tweeners like Ricks...

Big ups to Andres Cantor

I can TOTALLY hear that sound bite in my head. Too funny, especially when applied to "American Football".

Are we permitted to play 3 WR's and 3 TE's?

Lets get real ..... NO MORE TE'S... NO MORE WR'S.... NO MOR OL-MEN .... NO MORE MARGINAL DB'S .....P-L-E-A-S-E !!!

We need depth at the defensive line ----period.

Don't be ridiculous. It's not like we can't sign Ricks and a defensive lineman.

Yes, we have a lot of tight ends, but we don't really know who is going to step up. In situations like that, it's usually best to throw as much on the wall as possible, and see what sticks...

Agreed, toss it up there - see what sticks. In the end, we'll get the most talented guys. Plus, the way the TE/HB formations work - we need a bunch of talent there & backups.

Defer to the Arizona Cardinals - Minnesota Viking agme where the announcer started throwing a fit and banging on his desk.

Made me smile, because I like to cheer for them a bit when they aren't oplaying the Redskins. Problem is, they'll fight teams like the Rams, Panthers, and Packers tooth and nail, but teams like the Browns, 49ers, and Lions will crush them under foot.
