Taylor on the wrong end of a rookie prank.

Sean Taylor was speaking to the media and from the doors of Redskins Park comes LaVar and smashes a pie in Sean's face. LaVar yelled "Rookie!" It was all fun at first but Sean was still trying to get the substance out of his eyes. He was temporarily blinded by that but was able to wash the stuff out of his eyes. Shawn Springs jokingly said as they were walking in to help Sean: "I was just starting to feel good about him! Damn!"

It was shown on Comcast Sports Net. To repeat: SEAN IS FINE.

I didn't see it on Comcast because it seems there signal is all messed up.... but i did see it on Fox 5.... Sean looked pissed.... I thought he was gonna start swinging.... Did he comment on it afterwards??? I didn't hear about Taylor's take on the whole thing.... I guess we'll find out tommorrow...

He looked pissed because he couldn't see!!!!!

LaVar helped him in to where he could wash that pie out of his eyes. He even had a towel handy for him thinking that it was just his face that got messed up. But once he realized it was in his eyes he helped him wash it out.

It was just a funny prank!!!

Oh man, our new saftey has reflexes that are THAT bad??? I KNEW it... we should have gone for Winslow!!!

lol, j/k... but seriously, I guess the fact that he wouldn't close his eyes must show how fearless he is, haha

LaVar Arrington better the... Heck pay for some laser eye surgery if Sean Taylor doesn't have 20/20 vision!

What I don't get is why Sean was pissed :?:

I think Arrington should have come up with something a little more creative than that. The pie in the face is used.

what if he goes on the DL?

That's baseball, Insano.
Taylor was likely more embarrassed than hurt. He's a young guy. There are many rookies that feel like they should be excluded from the hazing due to some inflated sense of self. Not to worry. The vets won't buy that for a minute.
Taylor gets hazed like every other rookie gets hazed.
LaVar meant no harm. Taylor overreacted..

If I was Sean I'd be pretty pissed as well. He doesn't have a contract yet does he? What if he was blinded by this prank. Hope he's got good insurance.

I just read that Sean had to miss the final practice because his eyes were bothering him. Hazing should be banned, this is rediculous. I'm sure Lavar will never pull this prank again and if so maybe he should be fined. I thought is was a pie, turns out it was shaving cream.

Thanks Lavar.

Oh get real... Lavar was joking.... he didn't know he was going to hurt him... If it had not gotten into his eye.... the whole thing would have had a different reaction... you can't start lynching people for something that was an ACCIDENT......

It's hazing, and it happens. On the high school level, (a level I'm very familiar with) this would be labelled as "light". So the man has 'sensitive eyes'. Who knew ? Certainly not LaVar Arrington ! This was not an effort to injure the man, or blind him. It's hazing, and it goes on whether you like it or not. It's all about earning your way into the locker room. Sure, you can impress the HC. Can you impress the team ?
The whiners never make it, no matter how good they are.
So far, no whining from Taylor. LaVar has issued a public apology.
It's done with. In the end, Taylor will "sing for his supper" and Taylor will dress like a hooker.
In three years, Taylor will happily participate in the hazing of the latest "Next Big Thing".
That's life in football.

That was no accident, I saw it on television.

My objection is shaving cream in the eyes.

I wish one of my co-workers had thrown shaving cream in my eyes my first week on the job, we'd be in court. Yeah this is a game but it's also a man's livelihood. You take a chance with a prank like this. It's all funny when no harm is done, but when a person has an adverse reaction I hope it will make folks re-think this in the future.

The big tackle in Balt. will glady share his opinion about foreign substances in the eye.

dude it was an accident, can you honestly tell me that he meant to put the SHAVING CREAM in his EYES???? No he wanted to make him look like a clown by creaming his face.... they do it every other night in baseball..... when the game winning guy is doing an interview and his teamate comes from behind and creams him in the face..... I'm sure the players don't have a fridge full of Cream Pies sitting in the locker room....

So you telling me you've never done ANYTHING in you entire life.... jokingly.... that turned out to be more serious than it was.... give me a break......

ChillWill wrote:The big tackle in Balt. will glady share his opinion about foreign substances in the eye.

He had a bean ball thrown in his eye... not jokingly.... and it blinded him..... you can't compare the two.....

have you never gotten anything in your eye.... shampoo? tooth paste? shaving cream? it hurts.... but it's not gonna blind him.....

I'll say one thing from Sean's reaction I don't think Lavar is going to mess with this dude too many times. He looked like he could've gone M. Westbrook on him.

I never liked this crap when I played ball. Some guys like this stupid stuff. I guess whatever makes you happy. Punish your opponents and spare your teamates. Is this good lockeroom? Whatever.

I'll let it rest for now.

Let's not jinx the " next big thing " with Westbrook comments. :D God knows thats all we need. Either way it was funny, yet we saw the side of Taylor's intensity we normally see just on the field. He's gonna be a big part of our future, he knows the hazing won't stop because of it, and as for Lavar and him.....they are fine about it.

I love Lavar and I know he enjoys life and has taken a liking to the new rookie and this is all a part of how it's done. Things happen. We all make mistakes whether in fun or not. Hopefully though he missed todays practice as a result, there will be no lingering effects. I think in short order this kid will be the cornerstone of this defense. It takes all kinds of charaters to make a team complete.

I thought the hazing started in training camp, after contracts have been signed. Not at minicamp.

The next test for Sean will come in training camp when I'm sure he'll get in a few scuffles - and the vets will watch to see how he stands up for himself. I'm disappointed in his reaction to the shaving cream... meow...

Whipped cream is JUST as cheap and less dangerous to your eyes, I mean... first of all... Taylor should have CLOSED HIS EYES!

Second of all... why shaving cream? That's just dumb... oh well, hindsight's 20/20...

PS- This would NEVER have happened if we got Winslow!
