Redskins-Gnats Predictions

Let me be the first one to start this off.
I consider myself to be pretty conservative when predicting Redskins wins-losses, etc., but I gotta tell ya....I gotta hunch about this game.
Remember a few years back (okay, maybe more than a few years) that the Skins absolutely creamed the Gnats?
Well, after a few close calls.....my gut is telling me that the Skins are gonna break out of their shell this week, tightin' it up...and absolutely spank the Gnats.
I really don't know why I feel this way because I, like most, should be expecting a close game.....but....I gotta go with my gut:
Gnats: 13
Redskins: 41
Well, there you have it.

hailskins666, I almost predicted the same thing...a loss...but thought I'd take too much rassin' and am hoping for the best...but I sure wouldn't put any money on this game....and don't feel real good about our chances and also believe our mistakes will hurt and catch up with us

Winning games in the NFL isn't about making NO mistakes, it's about making LESS mistakes than your opposition. We may have made some mistakes in the first half Sunday, but we played a solid second half.
And I thought we played a solid game against the Jets, despite the closeness. There was a lot of added pressure due to the'Jetskins', and I thought we performed well.
I thought the Cowboys and Giants both looked real beatable on Monday night. I'm glad we're playing the Giants early and coming off of a tough loss. It's not like their upbeat this week, even if they are focused.
The Redskins can have the solid week of practice that divisional match-ups always bring about, and come out and take it to the Giants. NYG have a real good defensive line and it's going against a much maligned o-line, no doubt. I think Jansen will finally get Strahan's number this week, and P-Ram will rip up that banged up secondary.
I think SOS has really stepped it up the last two weeks and I'm impressed with everything but this team's dumb penalties. I think he'll have the gang ready and frothing for the Giants, and I think the fans are starting to feel the love. Fedex will be rocking, and maybe like never before.
Obviously from my score prediction (WAS 27, NYG 21), I don't think we're going to annihilate them, but I do think we'll beat them handily and the game is only made close by a bogus prevent-defense TD allowed late.
You gotta believe brothers!!!! 3-0 would be so huge.

I think we have a tough time at first with the passing game, but Trung gets a good start going outside. The Giants get tired, their offense makes some mistakes, we end up with a good overall performance.
Strahan ain't 11 people after all.
Skins 27
NYG 14

I hope you're right Boss and wanna believe....just had my heart broke so many times in recent years.
3-0 would be huge and starting out 1-0 in the division would be nice. If the cowpukes can beat em at their house...we should be able to beat em in ours!

I am in agreement with Venting H on this. I don't really want to listen but I have voices in my head about this game.
I have to go with the gut feeling too and for some reason I feel blowout. Maybe my head is already too big from 2-0 but the giants did not look great against dalass. I don't know if I'll live through a week of celebration when we go 3-0 BABAY!!
SKINS - 31
giants - 17

guys- it's not that i don't think it's possible, or that i don't want to see 3-0, cuz i do think it COULD happen. i've already mentioned mistakes, but also mitchell is on my mind. against our "not so great" special teams, what does the greatest return man in football accomplish? not to mention the way he had numerous stops and tackles too. still a little worried with pass protection (line and rb's). feel good about our d against their make shift o line though. mistakes, special teams, and in the trenches is where this game will be won.

... the loss of Smoot is definitely going to hurt. I;ll understand if anyone wants to change their predictions.
Bauman is nicked too, so we're really handicapped. We gave Terrell some practice time today for nickel situations.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! He can't handle a safety match-up, what's he gonna do with a WR?
I hope Bauman can go, and even still, we're just a little bit exposed without Freddie in there. He's no Champ, but he is a good #2 guy.

Yeah...Smoot's gone....but last week's game was the first time I saw him play well in a while. I think the team will rally and still hold the Gnats. They may get a few yards more passing now....but the game will still be ours.

It would be so nice if Collins tries to take advantage of the weakened side and Bauman (or whoever fills the position) steps up and makes him pay. I guess the good news is Fred didn't break or tear anything. To that I can at least

Smoot got knocked out at practice today, he is doubtful for Sunday. There's another thread on the board already about it.

The Gnats have a lot of problems on, the O-line, which should give our D-line somme opportunties for a good day.
I, too, predict a Skin win (Skins: 24; Gnats 17). The soaked field will play big in this game, and SOS should be cognizant of this (hopefully).
3-0, who would have thunk it!!!!
Still, it's a long season and I don't want to get too excited util we can execute flawlessly, week in and week out...let's start it this week.
Hail Arrington!!
Thanks

even coming off the loss nyg had, you'd have to expect a rival to be ready. it hurt bad, i had a giant fan in my house at the time

that makes 4 in a row, we stop a streak with the cowpukes, and start one with the gnats.... damnit!!!!!!!!!!!!!
