By Andrew Mason

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- One of the most splendid careers in NFL and Denver Broncos history ended Monday.

Shannon Sharpe, the NFL's all-time leading receiver among tight ends, will not return for a 15th NFL season, choosing instead to accept a position with CBS Sports as an analyst on The NFL Today, a show on which he has worked as guest commentator during the past two seasons

Congratulations for him. Brilliant career, and great guy. I wish him the best, he'll bring a lot of life to that show.

agreed HS...I'd much rather listen to Shannon than Peion....hey what ever happened to Sterling Sharpe? I thought he was pretty good.

I can't believe how dumb Deion is, he just priced himself out of this business. I mean, as a retired football player this is the BEST you could get... and he tosses it away. He's not even that good at commentary, he's an idiot.

Ever see Joe Morgan do a baseball game? And every other sentance starts with "back when I played". Deion is ten times worse.

I was wondering what happened to him. Was he canned at ESPN?

STERLING & SHANNON SHARPE: Broadcasting dream team???

Wouldn't it be cool for them to do play by play of a game. That would be fun. Better than the guy who did the Skins games last year. Baldinger, was it?? Yuck :puke:

I never really know who's doing the Skins games. If I can't get a hold of a Sonny and Sam (the man) broadcast, I'd rather watch it with the volume low enough for me to hear some of the fans/noise, but not to make out what the announcers are saying.

Why listen to their 'analysis' when my brothers/dad and I are doing a better job?

Besides, we almost always hook up S&S (Frank forever).
