Titans | Numbers At DT Spot Could Force Out Haynesworth - from www.KFFL.com
Fri, 30 Apr 2004 15:36:33 -0700

David Climer, of the Tennessean, reports the Tennessee Titans have six players competing for two spots on the defensive tackle position, which could force out DT Albert Haynesworth, as his physical status and mental commitment continue to be a concern for the Titans.

I would love to sign him but the reasons for his possible release, stated above, make me pretty wary on the possibility of taking a chance with this guy.

OMG MANNNNNNNN ALBERT HAYNESWORTH!?!??!!? I would run around my neighborhood naked if we got this guy. This guy is crucial as hell and would make our D-Line 10 times better. He's a force and I dont know about his mental instabilities or whatever but this guy is crazy. He was a 1st round pick only two years ago and is only 22! Not only is he good in real life but he's an ANIMAL on Madden. Hopefully this guy will get cut, and signed by us. It would make my day...

haynesworth would be awesome. i'm not so sure he'd get a look from gibbs because of the personal matters, but you never know, i said getting portis would be nothing short of impossible three months ago. never say never.

Haynesworth would look good in Burgundy & Gold...
But Adewale Ogunleye would look better. What a way to make up for losing out on the J Kurse.

yea but, haynesworth wouldn't cost a first and a third to sign. miami can keep ogunleye. i'm tired of only having half a draft each year.

Yeah me too. I was just thinking, with all the hype surrounding Taylor with all the media attention he received, I think DS will start to go this route in the future. Its way cheaper and makes more since.

Can you imagine how great our LB's will play with Griffin and Haynesworth in the middle? Damn, and if we got a pass rushing DE next season!?!? Getting Haynesworth would open up hundreds of possibilities so let's all pray that Haynesworth will be wearing B&G in 2004.

I think we should skip Haynesworth and get more wide receivers.

Like I said before. We only need one Great Dlineman. We can already Run stop. On passing downs throw in Haynesworth, Griffin, Upshaw and Arrington and you have got a monster pass rush.

Marcus Washington is a burner too... and Barrow, even at 34 is no slouch - 150 solo tackles last year...

I don't think we have enough money to sign that guy from the Titans.

would we have to trade for him? what would we have to give up?

by tcwest10
Nope. If he's cut after 6/01, no trade is required. He'd be a UFA.
Dexter Manley, anyone ? We could use another psycho in that spot.

thanks I just wasn't sure whether they were going to use him as trade bait or just cut him.

Hey #9 I think WR John Wiggleworth from South Eastern Appliacian State Community College was not signed yet?????

He was their third string WR and is 5'-4" 151lbs but I hear he has alot of potential !!!!

Just think how better we would be if we Kept K-Lang instead of letting him go to Cleveland!!

Haynesworth ????? He better clean up his ack before ever coming here. I'm tired of Vinny bringing in mental cases like Russell last year because we are so desperate.

BRING DELBERT BACK !!!!!!!

Russell got arrested and did a whole bunch of stupid stuff that got him in trouble with the law. If i'm not mistaken Haynesworth isn't doing any of that illegal crap, he's just being a problem on the team. It's nothing Joe Gibbs and co. can't fix!

I hate to rain on the parade, but Haynesworth won't be cut 6/1.

If I'm reading his contract correctly, he'd have a negative impact on their cap (costs more to cut than to keep). The Titans are in the worst cap shape of any teams.

It would be the reason for a post 6/1 cut though curveball - so they can spread the hit over two years - like us and Trotter.

I don't know if we would want to bring in a problem child when we are getting rid of one though guys - if they thought they could fix something like that would they be getting rid of JT?

Haynesworth is a young monster and a force to be reckoned with inside. This would be the type of D-lineman I've been hoping to pick up all along!!!! I guess I'll just wait and see if it happens. If not... well maybe there's a diamond in the rough out of any of the rookies.
