P-Ram vs Brunell

I got a tip from an inside source that Gibbs loves Ramsey and that the QB decision will have little to do with the two QB's and everything to do with the O-Line. This person was told by coach Gibbs himself that he loves the way he can take a beating and keep competing but that he doesn't like him getting beat up. The talk around the park is that if the O-Line is protecting the QB well, Ramsey will likely get the nod. If not, Brunell will likely get the nod to teach P_Ram how to avoid the rush and not take sacks until either he learns or the o-line gets better.

P-Ram needs to learn to get rid of the ball quicker - but the new offense schemes should help with that and the line can't help but be better with the Buges directing it.

I hope this is correct info. I want to see Patrick be the star.

From a loalty stand point I want Patrick to win the job and become the star that he has shown flashes of. On the other hand Brunell is a local boy from Santa Maria. Bottom line I just want our team to win. With two QBs that have shown potential and have proven they can play it's win win for the fans.

I have an inside source that tells me that inside sources are always B.S.
It's an open competition, fellas. If the o-line protects ramsey, it's going to protect brunell too. Therefore, whoever is the best for the job will start.
I hope I'm not bursting any bubbles here.

The problem with this is that we will never know the reasonig behind Coach Gibbs' decision. But my inside source has been fairly accurate when he does volunteer information.

p-ram is a gibbs type guy...and what jansenfan says is exactly what ive been thinking gibbs will do...its all up to the O-line...Gibbs wont let P-ram get beat up like spurrier did..ramsey is our future and gibbs knows that and likes that...hes a tough, hard working, smart young man...bringing brunell in, in hind sight i think was a great move..now ramsey has to compete with a bona'fide great Qb and this will make ramsey 10 time better!!!!

WTEM reports that Patricks first pass during minicamp II was an interception.

Did Sean Taylor pick that one?

No reports on who made the pick. I would love for it to be S. Taylor. Maybe one our other new CBs.

Ok in Patrick's defense, they are all in Redskin's jerseys, it's kind of hard to see the forest through the trees, you know????

Ramsey has never worked with a decent QB in the NFL. Whether he starts or not, just working with a vet like Brunell can only make him better.

LOL - you guys do realize that Taylor is gonna have to earn that spot and that if Iffy learns it, and is better than you think, he may beat out Taylor....
Slight chance... but still there

I dunno. I think Taylor is gonna be in the starting lineup unless he's injured. Yes, Taylor has to "earn" the spot but truly - he'd have to suck hard not to get the nod after being picked in the top 5. The only spot Iffy might get is the Strong Safety.

Am I completley wrong in thinking that Taylor is competing with Matt Bowen and not Ohalete? Taylor plays free saftey (previously held by Bowen), while Ohalete is the incumbent strong saftey. Am I missing something?

he is competing with Ohalete for Free Safety, while Bowen is supposedly moving back to strong safety where he has played since his first collegiate days.
I think...

Bowen and Ohalete are just randomly switching positions? Why?

Well apparently Bowen has played SS previously in some stage of his career and appears to be his more natural position.

i think it will come down to the contracts. bowen is here for another four years. i assume taylor will get a 5-6 year deal, while iffy is on a one year tender. i would assume that the coaches will try to form some type of on-going chemestry with bowen and taylor.

I love Iffy. I hope he makes Taylor bust his

in order to win the job. The plan is brilliant. Make the young bucks compete with proven players in order to improve not only your starters but the reserves as well.

everyone - Iffy isn't going anywhere - even if they have upgraded - which isn't proven yet though it will be - they need depth there too. You don't go into a game on Sundays with just two freaking safeties.
Whatever your feelings about Iffy, you don't probably want Andre Lott or Franz being the backups...

I think it only seems that way because of the goofy scheme last year

. Technically Iffy played SS while Bowen played FS. Bowen is moving to SS because he is not as accomplished in coverage as he is at knocking the snot of WRs. Taylor will battle Iffy for FS. I hope Iffy give Sean a run for his money so to speak. In the end Taylor is an undeniable talent who will most likely win the job.
