Sorry if this has been posted:

"But Coach Joe Gibbs said the overriding factor in choosing tackles was a realistic chance to make the roster."

That quote can be found in the article above, and I assume that the coaches felt that none of the defensive talent in the later rounds were that good. I know some of us disagree. But I also know that they have information that we don't on these players so as always there must be a reason for it.

I am concerned by the Dline - if you look at the roster, DE isn't so bad off, but we only have 5 DT and one of those is Noble. We are WAY undersized at DT... Haley is the biggest at 325 - but most of the others are 305 and under.

96 Griffin, Cornelius DT 6-3 300 4 Alabama 12-03-1976
99 Haley, Jermaine DT 6-4 325 4 Butte College 02-13-1973
78 Killings, Cedric DT 6-2 290 4 Carson-Newman 12-14-1977
95 Salave'a, Joe DT 6-3 295 6 Arizona 03-25-1975
75 Noble, Brandon DT 6-2 304 6 Penn State 04-10-1974

Gee Rich - these guys are tiny!

Weird in today's NFL when guys this big are considered small or at least undersized for their position. Maybe we can put Wilson or Molinaro in there to plug the holes.

I just keep thinking back to the Sam Adams/Siragusa combo that helped the Ravens to being the #1 Scoring Defense in the league.

Or, in fact, to the Dave Butz/Daryl Grant era in our past...

People don't run up the middle on big tackle combos...

And in a interesting sidenote - I believe Darryl Grant was an offensive guard in college who successfully converted to defense...hmmmmmmm
