Five stories Redskins fans might not have heard about the 1988 Super Bowl

Washington’s rout of the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXII remains an unforgettable part of Redskins lore, from the team’s 35-point second-quarter explosion to Doug Williams making history as the first Super Bowl-winning black quarterback.

But the team’s 42-10 trouncing of Denver in San Diego’s Jack Murphy Stadium — which happened 30 years ago Wednesday — also included some less familiar anecdotes. Here are a few choice moments you might not remember.

I had no idea that Gibbs literally just called Ricky over and asked him to catch the pass from Reagan. lol

Actually, I had no idea about any of the stuff in the article.

Wait a sec... Jake Russell, is this OUR THN Jake????

Yes, that's OUR young Jake, son of Terry, who, for an avatar, used a training camp picture of little Jake riding on the shoulders of a Redskin lineman.

(And I didn't know those stories, either!)
