Thoughts about Hopkins?

What do you guys think about Hopkins? did he have an 'off' year? he did kick way too much last year, most FG attempts in NFL (42/34), with an 81% success rate. It wasn't as if they left him with unrealistic kicks, all were doable and 36/39 in extra points. He's rated at 19th.
He did good in 2015, 25 for 28 field goal attempts, 89% success and missed 1 extra point.
The question is did his accuracy fail because he kicked so many times?
What do you think needs to be done?

I think they have too many other needs to make replacing Hopkins a priority. He has a good leg. I think they'll give him a chance to redeem himself this season. It's easy to replace a kicker mid-season if you really need to. There are always a handful of them looking for jobs.

The amount of times he had to kick because we couldn't get anything done in the red zone would have put more pressure on every kick he took. I really think that just getting more success there would make it easier for him to perform. He, like most kickers fail for mental reasons, so if that bit is easier I'm sure he'll pick things up again.
Dependent on these plans for improved red zone offense working out though!

He definitely had an off year, but it all began in the London game when he got iced and then missed the kick at the end. Before that he was great, after that it just seemed like he couldn't shake the demons in his head.
Even at his worst he was still serviceable, though.
I say bring him back in as the presumed kicker, and see if he's been able to work things out. Get him working with a sports psychologist. He's got a powerful leg and is one of the NFL's best kickers when he's on. If he continues to struggle, bring in competition next year.

Stop the kicker carousel, please. I'd say it's not as important as the QB carousel, but at least our QB cast-offs generally haven't had any success elsewhere.

When you make 4 out of every 5 attempts isn't 'missing one'. I agree with the sentiment, I had faith in Hopkins but the facts are harsh.
