I think Phillips wanted to work elsewhere but, yeah, he'd be a great hire.markshark84 wrote:http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/1841 ... oordinator

That didn't take long.... On Sunday Gruden said he needed to review the film..... I guess Gruden & Co. were able to review the film on all 16 games in 4 days, perform in-depth analysis on production at all 11 positions for each play called, review in game scenarios affecting playcalling, etc. etc. etc. and come to a definitive decision. I wish I could work that fast!!!
While I didn't think Barry was "absolutely horrible", we can do MUCH MUCH MUCH better. It appears Gruden & Co. have fired the ENTIRE DEF coaching staff ---- which causes me to believe that he is hiring a "seasoned/big name" DC who would be able to assemble (or already has one) a DEF staff quickly..... I have been calling for Wade Phillips on this board since the end of 2010. There have been hints he's interested in leaving DEN..... man that would be AWESOME. Unreal. That would be the best hire we could possibly get. We made the mistake of passing him over once; hopefully not twice!!!
Actually, we have already passed him over twice. This would be a third time. I too have been calling for him forever.markshark84 wrote:I have been calling for Wade Phillips on this board since the end of 2010. +1 - hopefully Gruden does better with his staff selections this off season and his decision making next season or he will be goneDEHog wrote:Well one thing is for sure, this will be Gruden's 3rd DC in 4 years...he better nail this one!

Bradley is most likely going with the Chargers now that Lynn is the new HC
