WEEI in Boston is reporting that the Patriots have traded a second round selection for Corey Dillon.

If Dillon didn't have the attitued problems that he did, I bet he would have been worth a first-round pick hands down. Despite injuries (which I think were caused in part by a bad attitude and poor work ethic), he was really one of the best backs in the league for a couple of seasons there. And now it's cost him millions just because he didn't like his situation. . .maybe he should have taken a page out of the Barry Sanders book (at least, from the first 7-8 seasons part of that book. . .not the last chapter or anything).

This move makes the Patriots even scarier! I can not believe that Marvin Lewis would trade a 1500-1600 yd running back to the Pats and only for a 2nd round pick are you kidding me!!! WTF Marvin Lewis! Seriously you *f$ck* idiot! You should have made Billichek give up Ty Law! He wants out to begin with! This is a huge steal for the Pats! No more *sh$t* running back for the Pats ie (Antowain Smith and Kevin Faulk) Imagine what Brady will do now that they have a running back! Not to forget to mention they have 2 first round picks! Marvin Lewis you could have at least gotten one of those! What a *f$ck* idiot!

i'm wondering how long the honeymoon will last. as we know, belichick does not tolerate players who put themselves ahead of the team. dillon not only puts himself ahead of the team, he puts his entourage, his dog, his cleaning lady and his pet rock ahead of the team. i'm sure everyone will say the right things for awhile, but what happens when dillon isn't getting the ball as much as would like?

i think this move makes the pats much better, but i still wonder about how it will affect the team chemistry.

pleaze, you're talking about corey dillon of a couple years ago. his best years are definitely behind him and he probably brings as much baggage as he brings help to the team. ok, injury prone running back with the worst attitude possible...what do you think you could get for him?? plus if you're the bengals rudi johnson is younger and was much more productive last year. IMO dillon is a cancer and the pats would have been MUCH better served to try to draft a running back with one of their 2 first round picks.

they may still draft a running back in the first round, and just platoon him for a couple of years with dillon, rather than simply throwing him in the fire the first year.

Cincinatti made a great move. Getting #56 for someone who'd already stated that he would never play there again is a pretty good deal.

IF Clarett's not available, the Patriots had to do something. Jackson and K. Jones may be gone befor pick #21, pick #32 was probably too high to use on Perry or G. Jones and both probably wouldn't have been there at #56. Clarett was probably their target at #56 or #63.

This will be great for the Pats. Dillon will be on fire this season and it will allow Brady to be more flexible with the offense. I don't think he is a cancer. He had to put up with a lot of BS in Cincy and he just needs a change of scenery. I'm just glad he won't be playing for Dallas.
