O'Dell "Josh Norman is only relevant because of me"

I'm sure most if not all of you have seen this, but just incase...
“If I wasn’t playing him twice a year, maybe people wouldn’t bring it up as much,” Beckham told GQ, via Complex. “But now it’ll be a lot more media attention for him, attention that I don’t really look for, attention I don’t really need. The reason that he’s become so relevant is because of me.”
I think O'Dell is giving himself a little too much credit, and is setting himself up to get physically and verbally punished for those 2 games this year.

Eh. As much as I don't like Beckham, he's probably the best, second best, or third best receiver in the league. Any time you find yourself agreeing with "Skip" Bayless it's time to check yourself . . .

I don't agree with Skip Bayless even having a job in sports media but even a blind squirrel finds an occasional acorn.
Beckham's numbers went way down last season in several key measurables. He played three more games but only caught five more passes on twenty-eight more targets. His receptions per game dropped by a full reception from 7+ to 6+, his yards per game dropped by twelve from 108+ to 96+, and his catch percentage dropped by ten from 70+ to 60+.
That's one hell of a one year decline for a second year receiver.

Says the guy that has never seen the NFL Playoffs. Josh Norman was just in the Super Bowl. In reality he's more relevant.

He's still relevant though, if somewhat less respected after he head-hunted Norman. He's one of the league's stars.

He certainly makes highlight plays. If we're being honest most defenses aren't even straight man coverage. The cover two umbrella the Redskins use is designed to a) prevent the corner from getting beat deep and b) to force the receiver inside to a safety. Beckham beats a lot of corners and the Redskins haven't exactly prospered in the safety department in the last decade. I'd still bet on Norman to keep him under his six receptions for 96 yards and less than one touchdown per game average.

If relevance equates to shutting you down and making you look like a Buffon on the national stage, then yeah he's relevant because of you!!

And, then consider that a MAJOR reason Norman was just in the Super Bowl was because he OWNED poor Odell... and maintained his own composure at the same time that Beckham was getting physically stupid with no real consequences from the officials. I remember thinking, this is a player who knows what he is about... thrilled he is now a Redskin.
