Absolutely tired of the Robert's fans or media people saying Griffin was poorly treated by the Redskins. It is utterly ridiculous. They treated Robert like a prince and heir to the throne. He was gifted the starting job immediately and the OC reshaped his pro offense to fit Griffin's limited skill set. When he lied to the coach about the extent of his injury during a game and got hurt worse he blamed it on the coach rather than accept responsibility for his own recklessness.

The Skins let him start immediately in 2013 even though he was very limited in his brace without pocket passing skills. After the season the head coach was fired. The Skins hired a new head coach they hoped would be able to help Griffin. Griffin got all the starter reps when he was healthy in 2014. Despite all of the preseason starter reps given to him again Robert still didn't understand how to read defenses, call protections and run offense on time in 2015 as we saw so dramatically in the Detroit preseason game. Going into his second year with the team Gruden had no choice but to move on to the more talented Cousins who justified Gruden's faith by leading the Skins to a division title, broke many franchise season records and finished in the top 6 QBs statistically in the league.

Obviously moving onto Cousins was the right decision. I just don't understand why some media people and many fans claim the Redskins mistreated Robert Griffin. Griffin made 25M+ in 4 years and was a total bust after 2012. Not only did he not perform but he was the source of some much drama. What a stark contrast this year. The Skins seem to be harmonious in addition to being division champions with Cousins.

Good luck to Robert where ever he goes but it is long past time for Robert's fans to accept the Skins did all they could for Robert and Griffin himself is responsible for his failure.

RGIII has become a euphemism for special treatment for no reason other than the price paid. Many a nobody has had one outstanding season in a sports career.

I agree it will be nice to have something else, anything else dominate the conversation.

I'm not sure that many really think that Griffin was poorly treated by the Redskins, although, there may be a few

speaking for myself, I don't think he was treated badly - to the contrary, I think most everyone did as much as they could to help him ...

but .... it will be interesting to hear from all the posters that think he was

Yesterday I heard a guy complain about Griffins treatment by the Redskins on the radio yesterday in the context of a discussion about Griffin's future in the NFL. The guy criticized Gruden for failing to develop Griffin, quiting on Griffin and for Gruden's public criticism. It was a fan calling in to the show.

"Poorly treated" is certainly not how I would phrase it. He was caught up in a situation where I believe there were decisions (i.e., risks) made that otherwise for any other player would not have been made. I think Dr. Andrews is a POS if he truly reported in that Seattle game that RGIII was clear to play - that was border-line criminal IMO. I think Danny and/or the Shenanigans are also due some responsibility for forcing the issue. No competitive player ever wants to quit, and I believe with all my heart that RGIII is a competitive player. Blame goes to all, not just one. I would rephrase it that the situation was poorly managed, and the victims included EVERYONE involved, from the players and coaches all the way to the owner and fans.

I am glad to see RGIII go. I believe he was a high risk/high reward pick when selected, but the franchise has been that desperate. A little better decision making and learning how to slide - who knows what could have been. But now I do believe he is damaged goods, as much psychologically and mentally as physically. Like most fans, I wish him well and hope we can all move forward and never forget the lessons learned during his tenure as a Redskin.

Actually I am tired of hearing about Griffin. For those that think he was mistreated, consider that many of his problems are from injuries. The Redskins have kept him on the roster for a full year in which he can completely heal and work at improving his skills and get paid for it. I appreciate the thrills of his first season but think his time here is past and hope he goes somewhere and has a KOF career. Let's get past Griffin and look to the future.

THE ONLY PEOPLE GETTING MISTREATED OVER THE PAST FEW DECADES HAVE BEEN US THE FANS!! Tired of this team losing consistently. All the players are rich!

Think of the dozens or perhaps hundreds of players over the past few decades who have played here for a paycheck and a paycheck only.

I get the feeling we have an opportunity to turn a corner here and have players actually want to be here in order to finish something they started.

The man didn't play for us last year and won't play for bus next year.
Heck, we even knew at the start of the season that he wouldn't play for us.

I'm looking forward to seeing what this FO will come up with over the next 6 months - I'm not OTT just because of 2015 - we still have a lot of work to do, although Scot & his guys have made a great start - I hope we continue to add young players & would not be surprised to see this FO stay out of the free agency market altogether - maybe a young FA or 2

It is funny how some people get so emotionally involved in a Redskin "player" I've learned over the years, players have short careers and come and go. We root for the TEAM -- The Redskins.

The worst part of the Griffin era is all the drama. I don't believe NFL teams do well with all that "noise" surrounding the team

I like the drama-less 2015 Skins...and their 9-7 record and playoff game!!!

AMEN - This is one reason I quit going to the games.

Griffin wasn't treated poorly but he was mishandled by owner. Griffin's growth and maturation as a player and a person, were hindered by Snyder. It undermined the HC's authority and created discontent in the locker room.

So, the mishandling of Griffin could be described is mistreatment. It's semantics, really. The point being, every player, player, situation, altercation, etc was his handled by upper management up until last year? It wasn't that Scot fixed everything, it just allowed other people to be placed in their proper roles. Bruce isn't the best personnel guy, but he's a great PR man. Bruce is now mostly handling that thing. We have one of the best scouts in the league handling our players now.

Snyder finally has a mostly complete FO that he can now entrust with the team. And they're also competent enough and successful enough to keep Snyder at bay.
