ASHBURN, Va. -- Pregame notes and analysis on the Washington Redskins as they prepare to play the Green Bay Packers on Sunday:

Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan helped change the culture because of the players he acquired. That much we've known. McCloughan wanted guys who loved playing and would prepare accordingly. Also, they needed to share his passion for the game. In changing the culture, McCloughan also helped increase the energy level. It’s not just him; corner DeAngelo Hall pointed out how much defensive coordinator Joe Barry has done the same on that side of the ball. “The message is always the same from a defensive coordinator, ‘We have to get to them. We have to stop the run. We have to eliminate big plays,’ “ Hall said. “It’s been the same message since little league. But it’s something about the way a guy delivers that message that tends to inspire people and Joe Barry has been that guy since Day 1.”

They won't be playing today and "Wiley" George won't be on the sidelines, but here's hoping this defense is as tough as the Over The Hill Gang.
