IMO, we got extremely lucky when the Viqueens held on to beat the Slackers last night. I DID NOT want the Skins' first opponent to be SEA...they are red hot right now (maybe even hotter than we are), and we've yet to beat them in the post season. Let the Skins get a post season win or two, and then if we gotta face 'em, we'll be on a roll with some confidence...speaking of GB, this Skins team reminds me a lot of the 2010 GB team...I like our chances vs GB...

It seems to me that we have all of the momentum on our side. GB backed their way into the playoffs while we went out and thumped Dallas. Not to mention Kirk is playing quarterback as good as anyone at the moment. I am hoping we are that team that caught fire at just the right time to go on a deep playoff run. If our offense continues to put up 30+ and our defense keeps creating turnovers, our chances of success should be pretty good.

Green Bay it is. I'm looking forward to trimming the hawks but I think we're better off building momentum by stomping the packers.

Loved this bit from Peter King in MMQB today:

Really: Who’d have thought two months ago that Washington would be favored to do anything but show up if it met Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in the playoffs? But Washington opened as a two-point favorite and frankly, I’m surprised it’s not more. Rodgers hasn’t eclipsed 16 points in five of his past 10 games. Meanwhile, Kirk Cousins is playing like Aaron Rodgers over the last half of the season (19 touchdowns, two picks, seven of eight games with a passer rating higher than 101). On the one hand you could look at the playoff draw if you’re Green Bay and say, “Lucky we didn’t get Minnesota, at Minnesota.” I’d look at it this way: As well as the Vikings are playing, Washington’s been better. And the Packers will be going home for a long, cold winter if Rodgers and his receivers can’t make four or five very big plays on Sunday.

Look @ this WI article..

"You'd love to have the home-field advantage, but I don't think they (the Redskins) have an unbelievable home-field like Green Bay, New England or Seattle," the offensive coach said. "They don't have that kind of aura. Maybe their fans will be excited, but they haven't had a lot to cheer about for a couple years."

Dag, that kinda offended me actually.
I want to beat them even more now just because of that paragraph.

The experts they consulted are all betting on Cousins suddenly playing badly and Aaron Rodgers suddenly turning it on. That's certainly possible, but it's not how I'd place my bet given the way those two have played over the past two months.

I guess it wouldn't be the most surprising thing. Think I heard some stat this morning that the Pack have been in the playoffs like 18 of the past 23 years. Something ridiculous like that. Rodgers is obviously the experienced, been there done that guy.

I don't really know what to expect on Sunday. I'm just hoping the team forgets about any of that "just happy to be here" stuff. I know some of us fans feel that way, but the team has improved steadily over the past six or seven weeks. They didn't luck into the playoffs either. They had to beat some teams on the road to get there. The Eagles game was basically a playoff game. They've earned their spot, they're playing decent ball. Go out and take advantage of the opportunity. Making the playoffs doesn't need to be the big accomplishment of the season now.

these 'experts' are being selective - they should be really looking at the last 4-6 games and how both these teams match up

we should be favored by more than 3 points

Which team will be more excited to play at 4:40 on Sunday?

This is practically everything in a lot of college bowl games but it can mean an awful lot at the pro level too.

I like our chances.

I'll agree - I'm just glad we're here but I don't think that the Packer 'history' or Aaron Rodgers means SQUAT to the Redskins players

these guys are going to give the Packers a good game - if Rodgers does not lift his game a lot, from what we've seen recently, they lose

the pressure is on the Packers - they are coming into our house - we're more than ready to show the NFL that we're not the same old Redskins

equally important, they're definitely not the same old Packers

definitely NOT Green Bay Packers weather :D

I like your point. One of these teams knows they're not as good as they were last year.

I think the Skins are playing as a team in all 3 phases of the game (Offensively, defensively and special teams). Where as, Green Bay looks dazed and confused. Im taking the Skins 24 - 17. It will take Green Bay's best game to win Sunday at Fed Ex field and I just don't think they have it in them.

I think the Skins win but it would not surprise me, at all, if they don't. Rogers is a SB winner and a multiple MVP - he has been here before. I am just excited to have one more game to watch this season. If it is more then that would be awesome.

The issue I have with the 'logic' that the more playoff experience will help Rodgers is that if he's that good a QB at this time, why is he not playing to that old level at this time - Rodgers has been a great QB but he's not playing well recently & just as important, the team is not playing well - why is it 'logical' that the team and Rodgers are going to put it all together & resolve their issues all of a sudden against a team like the Redskins with a QB that has been playing well & a team that has found a way of overcoming any obstacles for the past 6 games

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers of the past few years is not playing this game, this week - the current team is a shadow of their former team and they have to correct a lot of issues that they have in order to beat the current team of Redskins who are playing well now

normally the team that is playing well in the weeks leading up to the playoffs should win - WHY NOT US

Heard some radio guys put out that idea this morning. They suggested that the Packers have been in the playoffs a lot recently and know they're not as good as they need to be to get to the Super Bowl this year. Might not be as excited and hyped up for this game as a result. I don't know if there's any truth to that, but there's no doubt they're not coming in here having played well recently.

I guess we're kind of the dumb puppy that doesn't know any better. :D

Read the comments following that article. Not a one gives us a chance. They drink more Kool-Aid than Iggles or Cowpokes fans. Pack fans are in for a long, cold winter.

That has as much to do with Lions, Bears, and Vikings all being terrible than the Pack being that good. And they point to the NFC East being crap. #-o

Not to nitpick, but Rodgers' play and the level of his play hasn't really been the issue with that team. His receivers and his offensive line have been decimated this year. Just doesn't have the players he did in past years to put up those kinds of numbers.

As far as playoff experience, I think that's just more about not being rattled and not being overwhelmed in such a big game. I'm sure it will help him play his best under the pressure and maybe its an advantage over our QB. But its not going to make his offensive line block any better. :D

The Green Bay Packers games I have watched recently have shown a team that is not playing well - Aaron Rodgers not feeling the pressure of a playoff game is not making those issues go away is all I'm pointing out

I really like Aaron Rodgers & he can help a team but there's nothing he can do when the rest of the team, not just the offense, is not doing well

Agreed, one only has to look at Mr. Rodgers last trip to Fedex with a full deck. That game was over at the half...480 yards later the Pack were on the way home with a 38-20 W. Thank God they are a different team....and more importantly so are we!!

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, really badly wanted to win that last game - really, really badly ... and it was at home ....

they are going to have to completely turn it around in 1 week - I just don't see us letting them off the hook

we can play OK - they have to play really well - we are dictating this game, not them

H A I L - WHY NOT US & WHY NOT NOW?
