Seattle, Minnesota or Green Bay?

File this under” I can’t believe I’m saying this” but I’d rather us play Green Bay!! I think they’re our best match up. They can’t protect Rodgers and their defense is below average. Minnesota run game and defense could give us trouble. Seattle may have the best answer to Jordan Reed in Chancellor/Thomas, along with a very tough to defend QB who is playing very well right now.

I'll take Green Bay. All three games are going to be tough, but I think we can have a shot to win any of them.

I'll just add too that I'd love to get another shot at Carolina.

The only team in the NFC I really would hate to see is Arizona. Unless its in the NFC Championship game and I'll be like "F*** THOSE CARDINALS!!!!! LET'S DO THIS!!!!"

If Minnesota beats Green Bay this weekend (looking very likely), then we get Green Bay at home in the Wild Card Round. Seattle would travel to Minnesota, who they beat handily a few weeks ago. Assuming Carolina beats Tampa this weekend, that means we'd travel to Arizona for the Divisional round. If we can beat them, and Seattle can beat Carolina, then we would host the NFC Championship game against Seattle. That would be epic!

Yes it would.

But I cannot see us traveling to Arizona and winning. That's the one team I don't think we have any chance against.

For the wild card game, I like our chances against all 3 really. A small part of me is fearful of playing the Seahawks again, and I do think that we have the best chance at beating the Packers.

People haven't realized yet just how badly Green Bay is playing, and to get them at home? I think they are definitely our best chance at advancing in the playoffs.

I think we can beat Minnesota or Green Bay. I think the real Seattle team will be ready for the playoffs.

Possibly but why would we want to play a weak opponent in the opener and then play a much tougher one the following week?

Because you can get to the following week.

To get Green Bay at Fed Ex would be a gift. I will gladly play the weak and faltering first.

so let me get this straight - a bunch of you are thinking that we have very little chance at getting into the Super Bowl?

We have more of chance at going to the Super Bowl than we had of winning the NFC East at the beginning of the season

I'll let you in on another fact - there's not many guys out at Redskins Park thinking like you guys - it's time to get on the bandwagon

one game at a time and I'd really like our chances against the Seahawks at home

I still would like to play MIN. They have had the weakest schedule of the group and have only beaten 2 teams with winning records --- really only one if you consider the fact one of them was against an 8-7 ATL team in the middle of a 7 loss in 8 games stretch. They are also 4-3 on the road, but their wins were against DET (the 1-5 Lions, not 5-2 ones we're seeing now), CHI (1-6 at home), OAK (3-5 at home), and ATL (see above). That being said, I do agree MIN's DEF has been very good this year and could create a bad matchup. MIN's pass DEF is 9th in the NFL, while their rushing DEF is 18th. At this point, Cousins carries our OFF, so the only DEF stat I look at is pass defense, since our rushing attack is so bad that it really doesn't matter. Cousins will have to pass for at least 300 yards in order for us to win (the only games he hasn't in wins were against STL and PHI, when we rushed for 127 and 183 yards, respectively).

GB still has Rogers, have beaten some quality teams, and are 5-3 on the road. They've also won 3 of their last 4.

SEA is the last team I want to face.

Agreed Mark!

I think the real Seattle team will show up in the playoffs, so Minn and Green Bay would be a much better matchup.

I'll agree that the Cardinals are playing well right now but ... so are we :D

given a choice, I'd take Seattle in the first game ... but, I'm just thrilled that we're hosting a playoff game

If we could get to the NFC Championship game it would have to be one of the most amazing turnarounds in the NFL ...

For that to happen, both MIN and SEA have to lose this weekend. I see this as the least likely scenario. If MIN loses, and SEA wins, then we get SEA.

I've been painting such scenarios for a few weeks. I prefer this one.

ARZ gets top seed. CAR #2.

We host VIK or PAC and win.

SEA beats the other one on the road.

SEA beats ARZ and we avenge loss to CAR.

We host SEA and get revenge on the way to the Super Bowl.

The Vikings would be our best matchup for week 1 of the playoffs, followed by GB. I don't think you want any part of Seattle the first week.

It sure would be sweet to hang a L on Seattle in the playoffs!!! But as I said, I think they are the one team that can take away our best offensive player Jordan Reed.

I could see that. SEA is a division rival of ARI, so they would play them tough, no doubt. I just don't see CAR losing to TAM this weekend, but stranger things have happened. I also like the idea of beating ARI in their house. That would show all the doubters that we belong. Plus, I'd like to see another counter-demonstration from Indians who support the name Redskins, like the one last year, but on a national stage this time.

I want Seattle, there's no point in running away from the bully. Earl Thomas is too short to take Reed out of the game. Kam is too big and sluggish. They can't afford to put Sherman on him... But DJax has shown that he can beat Sherman.

What we can't do against SEA is d*ck around with Alfred on 1st down. I think Pierre has to be a staple of the offense, to help stretch that defense out. Kirk has to be a willing runner/scrambler.

I want Seattle too, but later, in the Championship game. Not running away, but that is the only way we get a second home game this playoffs. Well, we could get the Vikings at home in the Championship, but that wouldn't be as much fun.

I'd feel better about our chances if Junior Gallete was on the field.

Why can't we get to the following week by beating a good team and being better prepared for the 2nd game?
