Beat the Eagles, and we win the NFC East

Back in September, I never would have thought we'd be in this position. Amazing that we can clinch a playoff spot this weekend.

Waiting for someone to say Jay Gruden hasn't done enough and Kirk Cousins is a good backup. Some of us predicted a7-9 or an 8-8 season when we thought RGIII was starting. If we can close out at .500 or above I think the season has to be considered a success by any reasonable measure. Oh, and we're going to win. The Eagles look like the dog's balls based upon last night's game.

We are very fortunate to be in this position and to finally have guys in charge here that know how to fix the mess created by Dan Snyder
I am really excited about the progress that Kirk Cousins has made and hope that he will be back again in 2016
I think the eagles game will be a lot tougher than many here realize but to have a shot at clinching the NFC East will be a huge lift for us

Big game. I'm curious to see D-Jax play. Our defense needs to step up! Even though the team and division is sorry, can only go after what is ahead of you

I like that we are on a little roll, playing our best ball of the season IMO.
Here’s some locker-room fodder that I’m sure Gruden had already made the team aware of…
Later Sunday night, the Eagles got destroyed by the Arizona Cardinals at home in Philadelphia. The Eagles defense gave up nearly 500 yards en route to a 40-17 loss that dropped them a game behind the 'Skins in the NFC East.
Despite those results, Eagles linebacker Mychal Kendricks still issued the following warning to the Redskins before the two teams face off at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday night:
"If I know this team and I know myself and I know the guys in here, man, the Redskins got something coming to them,” Kendricks said via CSNPhilly.com

Absolutely agree...

I hope you're right... I'm less confident... Yes, the team played very well yesterday... Yes, the Eagles ARE the ass end of the NFL... but they are home, and we suck when we are away... especially with our need to let teams back into the game. UGH...

Get in the spirit of this. We're going to win so we can beat Dallas at Dallas with Colt McCoy.

The Eagles were bad last night but their whole season has been up-and-down swings. If their "good" team shows up and our "bad" team shows up, we could even get blown out.
I don't think we'll get blown out, though. Our team is hitting its peak in terms of focus and performance. We've got an identity that continues to solidify.
Should be a good matchup. I expect a nail-biter.

Thank you, Mr. Kendricks! I hope the Redskins caught wind of that remark.

the eagles are favored to win - how can that be if they are such a bad squad?
I do agree that we, unlike the eagles are not an up & down team - as the season winds down we have continued to show signs of improvement & I'm sure that we'll see even more signs of that in this game - I'm not saying that we're going to win but we do need to continue to play well and hope for the eagles to have an off night - the eagles at home can be very tough and they will be very motivated as well
but what do I know - I'm just a fan

We have to win this game ... the eagles are not losing to the giants - the giants have the worst defense in the NFL

The eagles could have won that game last night, 3 turnovers is what killed them. Next Sat is going to be a bloodbath.

sorry - the eagles were not winning that game because they are not good enough to find a way to win and the Cardinals are good enough
the eagles and the Redskins are not far apart - we just need to play well and hope they don't - simple really & very likely IMO
no question that both teams will be fired up to win - especially DeSean Jackson

Honestly with these NFC East games is just never matters who is favored, who should win, who should lose, what the experts think, etc; etc; We play these teams six times every year and you guys know full well that it rarely turns out the way anyone expects.
Both teams are going to be fired up. Its going to be a battle.
Philly is ranked 30th vs. the run. I don't think that we'll run the ball down their throats, but we've had our best games when we've been able to maintain some run/pass balance.
I'm just excited. Really hope we can get it done this weekend.

This game will be a true test of will for this young Redskin team. They'll have to want it more and show a determination that we have yet to see from them in the last 20 years. We caught a spark of it this weekend... We need it to ignite into a flame now.

Now that would be such a HUGE lift for this franchise going forward ... HUGE

Winning this game would put the rest of the division on notice that the Redskins are a team that will contend, not only this year, but for the short-term future. It is so strange to say, but the Redskins are the most complete team in the NFC East... and they are young! To witness this franchise finally identify and develop talent is breathing life into the left for dead fan base. A win on Saturday night would send the signal, even in our "rebuilding" year, we are able to take the division and get a home playoff game. Some speculate that the ceiling is too low, and that Dallas, NY and Philly will come back stronger in 2016, but I feel that sentiment is unwarranted. With a steady QB, lines on both sides of the ball getting stronger, and the adaptability of skill position players to simply do what is being asked, this team is starting to look like a REAL football team for once in a very, very long time.
Buffalo was supposed to come in angry to FedEx field, with playoffs on the line, looking for redemption after losing a nail biter in Philly - didn't matter. Philly will want to show that the home loss to Arizona was a fluke, and that they still have what it takes to win the division - it won't matter. I am not buying it. Honestly, I think that Dallas' defense and Odell Beckham are the sole threats to the Redskins this year within the division.
Play mistake-free football - the Redskins will win. This used to be true, but a hard thing to imagine. Now it is not only true, but slowly becoming an expectation. Get an early lead and it will be lights out.

I taped the 3 games - thoroughly enjoyed watching them - as CLL has posted, this squad is very close to believing they will win the game

Right on, man. I love that analysis. Come out like they did vs. the Giants a few weeks ago. Be the nastier team.
I think all of the pressure is on the Eagles. They've been on the ropes all year, playing at home, facing elimination. Come out with two of those 80 yard drives to start the game again, and we'll see those chumps crack.

+1
I think the Redskins players will to play for Gruden is > the Eagles will to play for Kelly!

...and the Redskins players' will to play for KC > the Eagles will to play for Sam Bradford.
In short, for the first time in a long time, this team holds the leadership advantage over most of the division.

I agree. PHI will be amped up to play. It is in their backyard for the division.
It was said in the beginning of the year that we would not be able to rely on Cousins winning us games. That and those who said it have been proven wrong in that in all but 1 of our wins Cousins has throw for at least 290 yards and arguably "lead" us to wins. Cousins will have to show up in order to win this game --- then again, as you said PHI has the second worst rushing DEF in the NFL. This will especially help us given the game is on the road and we have a weak rushing attack.
On paper, this is a good matchup for us. But, this is an NFC East conference game for the title. Anything can happen. It will come down to who is the most prepared and wants it.
