All we have to do is beat the Giants and bingo, right back in it.

Please don’t complain about how the officiating cost us the game…it costs us a touchdown…end of story! If you want to complain about the league screwing us…let’s talk about playing three teams off a bye, the Pats off of 10 days rest and the Cowboys off of 11 days rest!! I just don’t understand why we can’t get out of our own way in these road games? The tackling yesterday was in a word embarrassing!

We lost a game we were expected to lose and should have lost. It would have been nice to make a better showing but most of us recognize the team still has a long way to go to be consistently competitive. It's OK to hope the first road win in a year comes against a good undefeated team but it's foolish to expect it and then get grumpy when they are who we thought they were. On to the next one ...

Thank god for Thanksgiving this week. A full week of cry babies and trolls would have sucked.

I think we would be in sole possession of first with the various tie breaks. Even if Phily wins we would have a win over them and a split with NYG. At the same time, we would be 5-3 in the NFC and 2-1 in the East while NYG would be 4-5 and 2-3 while Philly would be 4-5 and 3-3.

This division is SO BAD. It's ridiculous.

It's like the old NFC West used to be, where Seattle won with a 7-9 record one year.

we are still in this - just very disappointing that we played so badly in virtually all aspects - that was a horrible effort all the way round

Truth. I'll be much more disappointed if we let the Giants maul us on Sunday. They've just owned us the past two years. I'm not feeling optimistic about it.

Really?

I'm optimistic about it. We'll be playing at home, which is good for us. We'll be playing for the division, so I think the guys will be playing with even more fire and intensity that they usually do after an embarrassing (or close) loss.

It's depressing. We used to be the division nobody wanted to play. We used to beat the crap out of each other and every other team in the league when given the chance. Now teams look at NFC East games as a game they can look right past on the schedule. I guess it's hard to find a full roster of guys who play for the sake of kicking someone's ass instead of for a paycheck. I don't find this brand of football nearly as entertaining. For all the equipment and rule changes they've made in the interest of player safety there are more injuries now than there ever were. It's not like these players are hitting like Jack Lambert. The overall mentality of the league is soft. And the NFC East defines soft right now.

IMHO, the bad officiating cost us two TDs and led indirectly to 10 points for the Panthers. Obviously the pick-six was negated and gave Carolina 1st and 10 on our 13 yard line — it was essentially a 14-point swing.

Then a "hold" on Jordan Reed negated a first and goal from the 3 yard line, where I am very confident we'd have scored. The next play we fumble on a sack and that sets up a FG before halftime that just about sealed it.

That said, I do not blame the loss on officiating. Sometimes the calls go against you, and sometimes several calls in one afternoon just happen to come at really bad times. It was just one of those days for us on Sunday. We did not play anywhere near well enough to win, and even if those calls hadn't happened I'm not sure we'd have been competitive by the fourth quarter.

Nevertheless, I'd argue that the officiating swung at least 20 points in Carolina's favor. Oh well. It happens.

Not me. He can't make the plays on the field. The linebackers and safeties are awful.

I generally never complain about officiating, but does anyone remember the helmet-to-helmet on Reed during our first possession that wasn't called? I think the reason it wasn't called was because he didn't go down on the hit, but who cares; that isn't a requirement. That is what made me more upset about the Culliver H2H hit (which was H2H, but not even as bad as the no call on Reed).

Had that been called, it would have been 1st and 10 on the CAR 40 or something --- and Cousins wouldn't have thrown the pick (since Gruden basically always runs on 1st down.....).

All the other calls are whatever. I wasn't mainly upset about the Reed non-call which was followed up by a lesser H2H call that took a TD away from us.

Regardless, we would have lost either way. CAR is just much better.

Well said and I can agree with that. My issues are teams that feel the refs are against them. I couldn't coach or play in the game if I thought that way.

Epic blown call 14 point swing one thing, but it visibly deflated our team and the momentum shift was so drastic we barely made it through the gamd

Both his hands went into Olsen's chest, under the helmet. It was clean. There are a lot of good still images floating around.

The only good thing in that game was accomplished by a guy who should be watching football on Sunday's not returning them!

Yes. Ironically, Cully actually eased up on the dude who, as we all saw, lowered the strike zone. I've delivered very similar "hits" in touch football - and that's the honest-to-god truth.

Not unnecessarily rough in any way shape or form.
